i really like it! looks like it took you a lot of time, and plus it does resemble the other house very well!

It takes more time to TyPe LyK dIs than it does to type like this.

Very realistic-looking! You did a wonderful job on this. I especially like the roof over the stairway on the side.

See my blog for my very latest lots, including some that are not available on MTS2: Twoflower's Sims 2 Lots. Also, see what's happening in Apple Grove, my Prosperity Challenge neighborhood.

It's really nice... but not so much Victorian style.

I don't understand what you are asking here, but I think you you just need to set your video settings all to high and turn on neighbor view. I have a really good video card by the way so I can do this with out slowing down my game.

Unfortunately, when it comes to architecture this would be considered victorian. Modern Victorian has moved away fro mthe traditional stylings greatly.

It is a very sad thing, but by definition victorian architecture just really means the use of multiple materials and stylings, such as brick and siding. The original version of this house was all siding so I made it more victorian by making it only half siding and partially shingle. The interior is showing the victorian styling by having a great room, and yes that was on the original floor plan.

This house would have originally been an add on to a larger house as maybe servants quarters above the carriage house. It has just been modernized a bit. But if you think of the garage as a carriage house it will all make a lot more sense as being victorian.

Sorry, but no I will not do ZIPs.

You need NL to do it.

I wouldn't say victorian, but this is cool!

That is what I thought you meant.

OK click the three dots (...) then click the little gears there you should see options for "Lot View Options" the second one is neighbors turn that on. If you turn on the fourth option "Clickable Neighbors" you can switch lots without going to the Neighboohood view. the View Distance and fade distance will determine how far you can see.

My options are at "Extra Large" "On" "On" "On" "Off".

Warning: If you do not have a good video card these settings can and will slow down your game.

That roof is actually really easy, The part right above the top of the stairs is a regular short gabled roof, the rest of it is the shed gabled roof it starts at the wall between the garages and covers to the top of the stairs. After putting in the roof you delete the walls that it puts in.

Easy.

Julian, I just love this starter home! Thankyou so much for sharing this & for being so patient with the people who ask questions & challenge the Victorian factor. It's so nice to see such a well thought out explanation that doesn't treat people like idiots. You rock dude!

I love to build small, elegant lots & neighbourhoods with No Custom Content & Hack Free. You can find them at my Minisite at TSR.
