Default Another day, another question: vacations
I love to go on vacation in TS3; TS2 possibilities are not bad either. I already know there are no hotels in TS4; another DLC, probably. Strange that they have not made it already.

Anyway, three candidates:
- for me, "going on vacation" mostly means "going to the seaside"; Island Living seems to be the obvious answer, but it also seems to be quite poor, especially when compared to TS3.
- Snowy Escape: the Japanese part seems enticing, the snowy part not very much. Can you build a decent monastery?
- Get Together: seems to be the richest one but: can you travel there? I think you can by now but I am not sure. Also: some great beaches, but can you sunbathe/swim there?

I will buy only one of them; trying to crawl out of the swamp. Not very successfully.

I like the beach, too. So, I took some property in Island Living and built it the way (within the game's limits of course) the way I wanted it to be if I wanted to vay-cay on one. I agree about the hotels. I don't understand why they haven't included one yet - though they have apartments and rental properties. Seems to me it would be quite easy to create a hotel. But then again, what do I know? Me and Maxis don't think alike. Almighty Maxis' thoughts are higher than my thoughts and their ways are higher than my ways.

I finally settled on Get Together. Combination of a small Romantische Strasse town and a modern holiday resort feels rather strange, but I am not complaining; got two for the price of one. Created a Sim - now he too can travel, to Willow Creek to die of boredom. He met a girl (Candy; sure looks the part) in the morning, by the evening they were deeply in love. Also, he got a ton of Simoleons for some reason. OK ...

I also realized that I have always been doing it the wrong way. When others were playing, I was criticizing; now everybody is criticizing and I am playing.

I find that criticizing while playing is a great stress reliever.
