Title: THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THE BUILDERS
This is a Sims 2 contest.

CONCEPT

The aim is to build small businesses for sims who want to own their businesses, This could be used as a starting point for any business district or business subhood.
Time: The Contest should last for no longer than 12 weeks.

QUALFICATIONS TO HOST

I have been a judge for the Strangetown Trading Places and a contestant in several building contests, including Wanderlust and Community Spriit and completed all.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTESTANTS

1. No special skill level is needed. This contest is open for beginners.
2. Contestants do need 2 expansion packs: Open for Business and Nightlife.

RULES

1. A minimum of 10 contestants is needed for the contest to continue. A maximum of 20 will be allowed.
2. There will be no eliminations.
3. Judges will be chosen by the host and their scores will be final.
4. CC is allowed, feel free to use it.
5. Each round will have its own rules to suit the specific lot.
6. Screenshots will have to meet the MTS SCREENSHOT guidelines.
7. You may use all and any building cheats.
8, Each round will last for 2 weeks, with 1 week between rounds for the judges. No late entries will be accepted.
9. Having fun is mandatory.

RULES FOR SCREENSHOTS

Mandatory screenshots are the following:
1. The front of the lot
2. The back of the lot
3. An image from above showing the complete lot
4. An image for every floorplan, taking from above and as close as possible. If needed, you may upload 2 images of the same
floor plan as well, to make it clear for judges to see. (It won't add to your total).
5. An image showing the lot size and price.
6. You are allowed 12 extra images to show off your work.
If your screenshots are not meeting all the requirements, the host will inform you and if there is time, you may fix that before the end of the round. No extra time will be allowed, though, and you may lose points if you don't have all the required shots.

Please upload any image of your choice first, and then put the rest of your images under a spoiler tag.

SCORING

Points will be awarded as follows:

1. Building Skill - 5 points. (per judge)
This looks at the building structures, is the roof neat and nice, the placement of the windows, the floorplans, etc.
2. Interior - 5 points per judge.
This looks at the furnishing and interior decor of your lot.
3. Exterior - 5 points per judge
This looks at the exterior, landscaping, etc. The lot must look inviting enough for potential customers to want to go in.
4. Playability - 5 points per judge
The lot must be 100% playable without having to use mods. All plants must be accessible (remember that your business
owner does not have time to spend on a lot of gardening).
5. Requirements - 5 points.
Building Regulations and Trade union requirements are things that real architectures and builders have to deal with every day. Please make sure that your lot meets the requirements.
Total Score
20 points per Judge = 60 points + 5 points from host =65.

THE PRODUCTION LINE

Josh Anderson has always been good at making things and enjoys it as well. He wants his own business and plans to use his talents to own his very first small business.

Build a business for Josh, using a workstation from OFB or FT to start his new adventure. You can only use 1, eg. not flowers and pottery, flowers OR pottery OR toys, etc. This is a specialist shop.

Lot size: 2X2
Budget: 38,000

Rules and Requirements
1. The lot must not have more than 2 playable floors inside.
2. The lot must have an open/closed business sign.
3. The lot must have a phone inside.
4. There must be a small staff room.
5. OFB display shelves must be used and must be stocked (use the buyable objects linked above).
6. The production area may not be seen from the shopping floor.
7. The lot must have at least one bathroom, with a toilet and basin.
8. The lot must have a cash register on it.
9. The lot must have seating outside for 2 sims waiting for a taxi.
10 No entertainment objects are allowed on the lot, with the exception of a wall speaker. This is a shop, not an entertainment venue.

We have 2 judges, halfway there

This pottery studio and commercial retail space is located in an up-and-coming arts district that was formerly used for industrial manufacturing. It shares the lot with a bus stop which means a steady stream of window shoppers will eventually make their way inside as paying customers. It's small but has lots of room to expand. Perfect for a brand new business owner!

This lot is almost 100% CC-free. I intend to eventually upload this so the only CC on lot are a 3t2 diploma (meant to be placeholder for the OFB business deed) and a coffee maker (Life Stories conversion).

Up front is the shopping space. At a low business levels (rank 1-3 and negative rankings), not many customers will visit the lot at first so there is only a small amount of merchandise on display. However, there's plenty of room to add more shelving as the business expands and more customers visit the shop. I kept lots of walking/browsing space for customers and employees, as I find smaller spaces get crowded fast. Many of my small business lots start having problems past rank 4 with customer crowding which causes employees to stomp and complain about lack of space to make their sales pitches.

The employees only area includes the pottery studio (production area) and break room with an emergency exit/employee entrance connected to the back of the lot. The pottery studio space has 2 wheels (1 for throwing, 1 for trimming), storage shelving for unfinished pottery, employee lockers, a work table for painting/glazing, washing space, and two kilns. The kilns are in a separate room to prevent the work space from becoming a sweatshop when the kilns are on. This isn't necessary in the game, but I did this for realism. Speaking from real-world experience here: it can get very uncomfortably hot working with an active kiln in the same room.

The break room has a table and two chairs, a trash can, mini fridge, coffee pot, and microwave. Nothing too exciting. Restrooms are off the shop space and usable by customers and employees.

@Modder Congratulations on being first. Do you think you could add a closer image for the floor plan. Image 3 is the entire lot but image 4 should include a zoomed in view from above with just the building. My eyes are old and I really need that to see inside properly.

You can take 2 screenshots of the floorplan if you can't get a closer shot (I need to do that, often). They will count towards required shots, so you can just add them.

@HarVee - of course I will accept you as a judge. Have looked at Plot of Land many times myself Just confirm if you want to judge or to contest, please?
