A pair of Sims, in love and engaged, attending University, were accidently made 'family' (flag checked) and turned into 'Siblings'. (Yes! My Fault! I committed the Fiddling with SimPE sin! Me culpa! Mea culpa! Mea maxima culpa!)
Only I can't turn them back to Unknown &c. relationship. The 'family' flag unchecks, but the sibling relationship refuses to die. And presumely because of a game restriction on incest (?), even though their state of 'in love' and 'engaged' persists, they cannot so much as dial the other's name to ask on a date---forget anything else.
I really, really don't want to fix this by enabling incest in the game (makes me want to be sick, sorry). Can anything else be done? I am using SimPE 0.48c. I will be adding Inseminator to my game to reinsert Bella Goth just for the fun of it. (Oh, all right---for the sheer chaos of it all... :p)

your problem is easily fixable. go back into SimPE and open your neighborhood browser. then from there open sim browser go through the photos until you find you sim. click open and your sims description will appear with photo and stats age etc.... then click relationships x sims relations family etc will appear on the left side of the panel find y sims photo right click on that photo and two optins will appear click remove relations. the sims photo will move to sim pool go down and right click again and click on add relation and the sims photo will reappear in the sims relation section on the right of the photo panel is the section that lists relationship status drop down the box and click unknown or not defined and it will remove the family tie. last step uncheck the box that say family if it is still marked with a check mark. click commit and wait for it to say its done then close sim pe it will ask if you want to save the changes click yes and at the bottom of the screen you will see a green line moving rapidly as it records these changes in the sims profile. it will say done and allow you to close sim pe wiith out any more boxes popping up. when you renter the game it should have the family Icon removed from the sims picture. I hope this helps

An easier way is to change the relationship dropdown box to friends, or something like that.

my version of SimPE doesnt have the friends option. only family or unknown/undefined which covers friendship/crush/steady and engaged :wave:

Sorry, use "Not defined or unknown." Friendship is a checkbox.

Thanx for all the help people. It turned out that no solution worked---with SimPE 0.48. Now that I have the latest 0.50 build (c?), the original instructions from The Bangle Bonker suddenly worked fine!
