I wish you would step back from that, ledge my friend
You could, cut ties, with all the lies you've been livin' in
And,if you don't want to see me again,
I would understand
I would understand
The angry boy,a bit too insane, icing over a secret pain
You know you don't belong
You're the first to fight, you're way to loud
You're a flash of light,on the burial shroud
I know something's wrong
Well everyone I know has got a reason
To say
Put the past away!
I wish you would step back from that, ledge my friend
You could, cut ties, with all the lies you've been livin' in
And,if you don't want to see me again,
I would understand
I would understand
Well,he's on the table, and he's gone to code
And I do not think anyone knows, what they're doing here
And your friends have left, you've been dismissed
I never thought it would come to this....And I....Want you to know
Everyone's got to face down the demons
Maybe today,WE CAN PUT THE PAST AWAY

"Amie," by Damien Rice

Nothing unusual nothing strange
Close to nothing at all

The same old scenario the same old rain
and there's no explosions here

Then something unusual something strange
comes from nothing at all

I saw a spaceship fly by your window
did you see it disappear?

Amie come sit on my wall and read me the story of Of O
Tell it like you still believe that the end of the century brings a change for you and me

Nothing unusual nothing's changed
Just a little older that's all

You know when you've found it there's something I've learned
'cause you feel it when they take it away hey hey

Then something unusual something strange
comes from nothing at all

But I'm not a miracle and you're not a saint
just another soldier on a road to nowhere

Amie come sit on my wall and read me the story of O
tell it like you still believe that the end of the century
brings a change for you and me

Amie come sit on my wall and read me the story of o
tell it like you still believe that the end of the century
brings a change for you and me

"Duet," by Rachael Yamagata and Ray LaMontagne

Oh lover, hold on until I come back again
For these arms are growing tired
And my tales are wearing thin
If you're patient, I will surprise
When you wake up, I will have come
All the anger will settle down
And we'll go do all the things we should have done

'Cause I remember what we said when we lay down to bed
I'll be here if you will only come back home

Oh lover, I'm lost, because the road I've chosen beckons me away
Oh lover, don't you roam, now I'm fighting words I never thought I'd say

But I remember what we said as we lay down to bed
I'll forgive you if you just come back home

Oh lover, I'm old, you'll be out there
And be thinking just of me
And I will find you down the road
And we'll return back home to where we're meant to be

'Cause I remember what we said as we lay down to bed
We'll be back as soon as we make history

Do I dare disturb the universe?

"You Could Be Happy," by Snow Patrol.

You could be happy and I won't know
But you weren't happy the day I watched you go

And all the things that I wished I had not said
Are played in loops 'till it's madness in my head

Is it too late to remind you how we were
But not our last days of silence, screaming, blur

Most of what I remember makes me sure
I should have stopped you from walking out the door

You could be happy, I hope you are
You made me happier than I'd been by far

Somehow everything I own smells of you
And for the tiniest moment it's all not true

Do the things that you always wanted to
Without me there to hold you back, don't think, just do

More than anything I want to see you, girl
Take a glorious bite out of the whole world

"Let It Be Me," by Ray LaMontagne

There comes a time, a time in everyone's life
When nothing seems to go their way
When nothing seems to turn out right
There may come a time you just can't seem to find your place
For every door you open it seems like you get two slammed in your face

That's when you need someone, someone that you, you can call
When all your faith is gone and it feels like you can't go on
Let it be me, let it be me, if it's a friend you need
Let it be me, let it be me

It feels you're always coming up last, pockets full of nothing
Ain't got no chance, no matter where you turn
You ain't got no place to stand, you reach out for something
And they slap your hand, I remember all too well
Just how it feels to be all alone, feels like you'd give anything
For just a little place you could call your own

That's when you need someone, someone that you, you can call
When all your faith is gone and it feels like you can't go on
Let it be me, let it be me, if it's a friend you need
Let it be me, let it be me, let it be me, let it be me
If it's a friend you need, let it be me, let it be me
Let it be me

--

I sing to this in shower all the time .
His voice is so husky that I can hardly hear how bad I am.

Do I dare disturb the universe?

"Our Song", by Dala.

I've got a feeling I call my music
I've always wanted to share with you.
It's in my heart and I'll never lose it.
It's something that I was born to do.

I've been silent for so long,
The world is waiting for my song.
La-la la la, la-la la la.

There's a melody in you somewhere
I know you hear it when you're alone.
There's so much music already out there
It's time for you to create your own.

You've been silent for so long,
The world is waiting for your song.
La-la la la, la-la la la.

We have all been hiding our voices.
We have all got something to sing about.

We've been silent for so long,
The world is waiting for our song.

The meadows are in bloom:
who has ever seen such insolence?

Control - Puddle of Mudd

LANGUAGE!

I love the way you look at me
I feel the pain you place inside
Lock me up inside ya dirty cage
While Im alone inside my mind

I like to teach you all the rules
Id get to see them set in stone
I like it when you chain me to the bed
There ya secrets never shone

[chorus]
I need to feel you
You need to feel me
I cant control you
Youre not the one for me, no

I cant control you
You cant control me
I need to feel you
So whys it involve

I love the way you rape my skin
I feel the hate you place inside
I need to get your voice out of my head
Cause Im the guy youll never find

Im faking all of the rules
Theres no expressions on your face
Im hoping some day you will let me go
Release me from my dirty cage

[chorus]
I need to feel you
You need to feel me
I cant control you
Youre not the one for me, no

I cant control you
You cant control me
I need to feel you
So whys it involve...you and me..

[repeat 4x]
I love the way you look at me
I love the way you smack my ass
I love the dirty things you do
I have control of you

[chorus]
I need to feel you
You need to feel me
I cant control you
Youre not the one for me, no

I cant control you
You cant control me
I need to feel you
So whys it involve you and me..

[repeat 4x]
Youre not the one for me, no

Oh, hi, how are you holding up?
Because I'm a Cass.

"Hallelujah," by Leonard Cohen.

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Baby I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you.
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Sweet and Low
Augustana

Anywhere you go, anyone you meet,
Remember that your eyes can be your enemies,
I said, well hell is so close
And heaven's out of reach
I ain't giving up quite yet,
I've got too much to lose

Hold me down, sweet and low, little girl
Hold me down, sweet and low, and I'll carry you home
Hold me down, sweet and low, little girl
Hold me down, and I'll carry you home

Rain is gonna fall, the sun is gonna shine,
The wind is gonna blow, the water's gonna rise
She said, when the day comes, look into my eyes
No one's giving up quite yet,
We've got too much to lose

Hold me down, sweet and low, little girl
Hold me down, sweet and low, and I'll carry you home
Hold me down, sweet and low, little girl
Hold me down,

And I'll carry you all the way,
You say you're fine
But you're still young, and out of line
All I need is to turn around,
To make it last, to make it count
You're gonna make the same mistakes
That put my momma in her grave
I don't wanna be alone

Hold me down, sweet and low, little girl
Hold me down, sweet and low, and I'll carry you home
Hold me down, sweet and low, little girl
Hold me down, and I'll carry you home

"Cheers Darlin" by Damien Rice

Cheers darlin'
Here's to you and your lover boy
Cheers darlin'
I got years to wait around for you
Cheers darlin'
I've got your wedding bells in my ear
Cheers darlin'
You give me three cigarettes to smoke my tears away

And I die when you mention his name
And I lied, I should have kissed you
When we were running in the rain

What am I darlin'?
A whisper in your ear?
A piece of your cake?
What am I, darlin?
The boy you can fear?
Or your biggest mistake?

Cheers darlin'
Here's to you and your lover man
Cheers darlin'
I just hang around and eat from a can
Cheers darlin'
I got a ribbon of green on my guitar
Cheers darlin'
I got a beauty queen
To sit not very far from me

I die when he comes around
To take you home
I'm too shy
I should have kissed you when we were alone

What am I darlin'?
A whisper in your ear?
A piece of your cake?
What am I, darlin?
The boy you can fear?
Or your biggest mistake?

Oh what am I? What am I darlin'?
I got years to wait...

Really? Me too! Damien Rice is one of my favourites. He had a show here in Brazil and when "Cheers Darlin'" was on, he invited a lady and a dude to drink wine onstage while he sang. He's so cool!

Yeah..and he's so original. That's what I like most about him. What is your favourite D.R. song?
Mine is a tie between Cheers Darlin', The Animals Were Gone, The Blower's Daughter and Dogs

Hm, I lovelovelove "Amie", and I think it's just absolutely beautiful, but I also adore "The Blower's Daughter", "Grey Room", "Accidental Babies", and every other song he's made.

"Almost Lover," by A Fine Frenzy.

Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind
Images
You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick

Well, I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

We walked along a crowded street
You took my hand and danced with me
Images
And when you left, you kissed my lips
You told me you would never, never forget
These images

No

Well, I'd never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

I cannot go to the ocean
I cannot drive the streets at night
I cannot wake up in the morning
Without you on my mind
So you're gone and I'm haunted
And I bet you are just fine

Did I make it that
Easy to walk right in and out
Of my life?

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should have known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

"Belief," by Gavin Degraw

Belief makes things real, makes things feel, feel alright
Belief makes things true, things like you, you and I

Tonight, you arrested my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife in the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a god
Oh, you stood by me, belief

Builds from scratch, doesn't have to relax, it doesn't need space
Long live the queen, and I'll be the king in the collar of grace

Oh, tonight you arrested my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife in the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a god
Oh, you stood by me, belief

I'm gonna yell it from the rooftops
I'll wear a sign on my chest
That's the least I could do
It's the least I can do

Tonight you arrested my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife in the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a god
Oh, you stood by me
And I'll stand by my belief
Oh, I'll stand by my belief

Do I dare disturb the universe?

No Such Thing
John Mayer

"Welcome to the real world", she said to me
Condescendingly
Take a seat
Take your life
Plot it out in black and white
Well I never lived the dreams of the prom kings
And the drama queens
I'd like to think the best of me
Is still hiding
Up my sleeve

They love to tell you
Stay inside the lines
That something's better
On the other side

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there's no such thing as the real world
just a lie you've got to rise above

So the good boys and girls take the so called right track
Faded white hats
Grabbing credits
Maybe transfers
They read all the books but they can't find the answers
And all of our parents
They're getting older
I wonder if they've wished for anything better
While in their memories
Tiny tragedies

They love to tell you
Stay inside the lines
But something's better
On the other side

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there's no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you got to rise above

I am invincible (x3)
As long as I'm alive

I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
I just found out there's no such thing as the real world
Just a lie you've got to rise above

I just can't wait til my 10 year reunion
I'm gonna bust down the double doors
And when I stand on these tables before you
You will know what all this time was for

"The Scientist," by Coldplay.

Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are

I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I've set you apart

Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let's go back to the start

Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on the science apart

Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard

Oh take me back to the start

I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart

Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

Oh tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start

Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

I’m going back to the start

I used it as part of my speech on The Time Traveler's Wife, because I had a different interpretation of it to other people.

^You get to do speeches on books like that for school?! So not fair! I've only gotten to do a speech on a book of my choosing (Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close) once throughout my entire high school career.

"A Song For You," by Donny Hathaway

I've been so many places in my life and time
I've sung a lot of songs, I've made some bad rhymes
I've acted out my life on stages with ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now, and I'm singing this song to you

I know your image of me is what I hope to be
I treated you unkindly, but darling, can't you see?
There's no one more important to me, baby, can't you see through me?
We were alone, and I was singing this song to you

You taught me precious secrets of a true love withholding nothing
You came out in front when I was hiding
But now I'm so much better, and if my words don't come together
Just listen to the melody, 'cause my love is in there, hiding

I love you in a place where there's no space or time
I love you for my life, you're a friend of mine
And when my life is over, remember when we were together
We were alone, and I was singing this song to you
We were alone, and I was singing this song to you
We were alone, and I was singing this song to you

Do I dare disturb the universe?

No Scrubs - TLC

A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
And is also known as a buster
Always talkin' about what he wants
And just sits on his broke a**
So (no)

I don't want your number (no)
I don't want to give you mine and (no)
I don't want to meet you nowhere (no)
I don't want none of your time and (no)

[Chorus:]
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best friend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best friend's ride
Trying to holler at me

But a scrub is checkin' me
But his game is kinda weak
And I know that he cannot approach me
Cuz I'm lookin' like class and he's lookin' like trash
Can't get wit' no deadbeat a**
So (no)

I don't want your number (no)
I don't want to give you mine and (no)
I don't want to meet you nowhere (no)
I don't want none of your time (no)

[Chorus]

If you don't have a car and you're walking
Oh yes son I'm talking to you
If you live at home wit' your momma
Oh yes son I'm talking to you (baby)
If you have a shorty but you don't show love
Oh yes son I'm talking to you
Wanna get with me with no money
Oh no I don't want no (oh)

No scrub
No scrub (no no)
No scrub (no no no no no)
No scrub (no no)

"Where the Road Meets the Sun," by Katie Herzig and Matthew Perryman Jones

Angel wings spread over water-worn wishes
Guarding the dreams and the things left unsaid
Here we are wandering, aimlessly roaming
Lovers who linger and never forget
And when it's done we will walk where the road meets the sun

Waiting for you by the Santa Maria
How long must I stay with these letters from you?
I don't know whether we'll end up together
But I'll always know that our love is true
And when it's done we will walk where the road meets the sun

Don't disappear, darling, I want you
Don't leave me here, and when the day comes
I'll meet you here 'cause I know that wishes come true
I'm finding my way back to you

Angel wings spread over water-worn wishes
Guarding the dreams and the things left unsaid
And when it's done we will walk where the road meets the sun
And when it's done we will walk where the road meets the sun

My Immortal by Evanescence, it's a really beautiful, emotional song...

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
Your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

[Chorus:]
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held you hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

"Chelsea Hotel No. 2" by Leonard Cohen

I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel,
you were talking so brave and so sweet,
giving me head on the unmade bed,
while the limousines wait in the street.
Those were the reasons and that was New York,
we were running for the money and the flesh.
And that was called love for the workers in song
probably still is for those of them left.

Ah but you got away, didn't you babe,
you just turned your back on the crowd,
you got away, I never once heard you say,
I need you, I don't need you,
I need you, I don't need you
and all of that jiving around.

I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel
you were famous, your heart was a legend.
You told me again you preferred handsome men
but for me you would make an exception.
And clenching your fist for the ones like us
who are oppressed by the figures of beauty,
you fixed yourself, you said, "Well never mind,
we are ugly but we have the music."

And then you got away, didn't you babe...

I don't mean to suggest that I loved you the best,
I can't keep track of each fallen robin.
I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel,
that's all, I don't even think of you that often.

All that I keep thinking throughout this whole flight
Is it could take my whole damn life to make this right
This splintered mast I'm holding on won't save me long
Because I know fine well that what I did was wrong

The last girl and the last reason to make this last for as long as I could
First kiss and the first time that I felt connected to anything
The weight of water, the way you told me to look past everything I had ever learned
The final word in the final sentence you ever uttered to me was love

We have got through so much worse than this before
What's so different this time that you can't ignore
You say it is much more than just my last mistake
And we should spend some time apart for both our sakes

The last girl and the last reason to make this last for as long as I could
First kiss and the first time that I felt connected to anything
The weight of water, the way you told me to look past everything I had ever learned
The final word in the final sentence you ever uttered to me was love

The last girl and the last reason to make this last for as long as I could
First kiss and the first time that I felt connected to anything
The weight of water, the way you told me to look past everything I had ever learned
The final word in the final sentence you ever uttered to me was love

And I don't know where to look
My words just break and melt
Please just save me from this darkness
Please just save me from this darkness

And I don't know where to look
My words just break and melt
Please just save me from this darkness
Please just save me from this darkness
