Here's half a dozen recoloured guitars mostly from cayaent (the bass is Atavera)

This is my first foray into reskinning for Sims2 (I used to do Sims1 stuff) so I welcome comments of any kind. I also noticed a few things about the cayaent's guitars and I'd love to ask a question or two and offer a couple of comments about them if you're reading this and you have a few minutes some time.

Included in the package are the following recolours:

Note: I created a Fender Twin-inspired amp (not a perfect copy but inspired by the Twin that fits the default amp model's mesh). Which are included in the Tele and Strat package files; however, since the amp isn't designable on Cayaent's meshes, you won't be able to access them. If you're a designer, you can export them from my packs and import them over any other guitar's amp in SimPE or else perhaps in a future release cayaent will set the amp to be designable.

* Fender Tele Black - I made this when Cayaent only had his original blue Tele up before he made his black one. I was very pleased with this one (probably because tele's aren't rounded on the top or edges so the sims tele looks very accurate. I did a lot of adjusting to Cayaent's default skin. I cleaned up the headstock decals, I added screws and 3-ply edging to the pickguard (drawn on, not 3d rendered), and I redid all the chrome (bridge, pickup cover and control plate). Finally a pulled the pickguard away from the guitar's edge a little so the guitar's colour would shown a bit on the treble edge.

* Fender Strat Burst (two-colour or brown burst) - Again I added 3-ply to the pickguard, and redid the bridge, output jack and headstock decals. I also added text to the control knobs. Real burst Fenders would be burst on the back but the nature of the mesh is such that the edge colour of the body is taken from the middle of the back. So it's either an all-dark back or else the edge of the body would be light brown. I chose the former since the back of the guitar isn't seen much. I was also unable to figure out what part of the texture the fret marker dots come from so they remain brownish for now. I also added a bit of lighting on the bass edge to simulate that famous fender body contour

* Fender Jazz Bass Natural - The only one based on Atavera's skins. The only thing I'm not thrilled about with this one is my work on the fretboard. It's ok but I may repair it in the future. Atavera's mesh for this one is a bit 'square' which is notable on this skin which is a natural wood but it still looks pretty good.

* PRS Archtop Black/Silver - The other 3 guitars are PRS models. Two Archtops - one black and one silver (PRS call it Platinum Metallic). The mesh isn't arched or hollow (though it just occured to me this instant that I might have been able to just transparent the F-holes - but it probably wouldn't have looked better than the draw-in F-holes) but I applyed some faux contour to the bodies to give it a bit of an arch look. Also added maple bindings to the top and back, as well as redoing the signature on the headstock, changing the pickups to covered McCarty pickups, and slightly cleaning up the bridge. It's not the proper bridge for an Archtop but since I don't model myself, I'm content to stick with the trem bridge for it.

* PRS CE22 Gold Metallic - Mainly the same as the Archtops, except I recoloured and metallicized the body, and then re-beveled it to give it that trademark PRS carved maple top (unfortunately just drawn on). I really like this one.

I'm also planning to work in the future on a Natural Maple/Mohogany Archtop with the Birds fretboard inlay, as well as a few recolours on the Strat. I hope you like them
