NRP: 20 soft and touchable retextures/recolors of melodie9's all-ages short messy hair
MESH: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=188067
For the Natural Redhead Project: 20 retextures/recolors of melodie9's all-ages adaption of Maxis' short messy hair. The textures aren't quite what I'd hoped they'd be, but they're a huge improvement over the Maxis textures (see the back view below), so I hope you'll enjoy them.
These are all color-binned (except custom colors), made with Legacy BodyShop, and grouped in the same family (which means the mesh doesn't "drop" if you switch hair colors).
If you want to download all the colors in one go, they are packed in the "alkaloid_hair_melodie9shortmessy_ALLCOLORS" file. If you want to pick and choose, all of the individual hair files have also been packed separately. The colors are listed in the file names.
Colors:
Reds: Dark Auburn (with brown eyebrows), Auburn, Titian Red, Ginger, and Strawberry Blonde.
Blonds: Dark Ash Blonde, Beach Blonde, Ash Blonde, Champagne Blonde and Platinum Blonde.
Browns: Dark Brown, Chocolate Brown, Cool Brown and Light Brown.
Blacks: Warm Black (a black with subtle brown highlights) and True Black.
Custom: Olive Green, Rich Blue, White and Bright Turquoise.
Please don't ask me to remember precisely which grey goes with which natural color. I know I did a white, a silver grey, and a middling warm grey. They roughly correspond to how light or dark the original hair color was. I also did a dark "salt and pepper" for the True Black elder color.
White and Olive Green have the same color for all ages. White has Blonde eyebrows, and Olive Green has brown eyebrows.
The Bright Turquoise (based on Manic Panic's Atomic Turquoise) color is Champagne Blond for toddlers and children, and white for elders.
The Rich Blue color (based on Manic Panic's Shocking Blue) is Cool Brown for toddlers and childen, and is grey for elders.
Terms of use for these textures/recolors: These files may be redistributed via shared sims, so long as those sims are available in the free section of any site, and I am credited with a link back to my profile on this site. You may not charge money or a membership fee for my files: this includes "donation files" on an otherwise free site, and sites where my files would only periodically be free.
These files may also be shared via Neighborhood 99, so long as I am properly credited.
You may recolor these files so long as your derivative works are only posted on free sites as described in the previous paragraph.
Additional Credits:
The skintone is an unreleased one by myself. The eyes are by myself, and the makeup and eyebrows are by Helaene.
Clothes (in CAS) are by HystericalParoxysm. The in-game clothes are by Maxis.

About Me
ToU: Please see individual posts for my creation policies. IN GENERAL, I have fairly liberal policies, but there are a few items that are subject to other creators' policies. Therefore, I don't have a blanket ToU.
Future expansion packs: due to the headaches I have experienced from SecurROM - including damage to my computer, a complete reinstall of my computer, and the need to buy a brand new antivirus program, and eventually the need to fully replace my computer due to unremovable rootkits that took advantage of the security loopholes caused by SecruROM - I will not purchase or install/reinstall any EA or Sony products. There are conditions that may cause me to change my mind, but I don't consider them likely. This means that if any of my CC is broken by an expansion or stuff pack, I won't know and I won't be able to work on fixing any potential problems. I grant anyone permission to patch my CC for compatibility with any Sims 2 expansion or stuff pack, as long as the patched items are 100% free.
Beyond that, I'm not interested in pirating securom-infested eps, and I would never help EA advertise malware-infested products by creating content for them, so please stop e-mailing me with 'helpful' information.
Which brings me to... Take the SecuROM-free pledge!
