Katya was born and raised until she was five in a small village in Russia. That year her family moved to California so her father could teach at a well known school. Katya and her family became American citizens when she was seven though she has always, as far back as she can remember, considered herself an American. She missed the simplicity of a small town and moved to Bluewater Village to get away from the hustle and bustle of California.
