Based on an actual 1905 floorplan, The American is a small Queen Anne style house with a parlor, dining room, and just one bedroom on the single floor. A bath with a tub and sink allow the residents to bathe, but until the small half bath was added to the bedroom, other calls of nature were more likely relegated to the backyard privy (since removed). Furnished, decorated, and landscaped, The American has been updated with modern features such as electricity, indoor plumbing, and a driveway, but still maintains is original charm.
