Hiya! I'm BreezyHoodie and new to this community. This is the first trait, first CC I've ever made. So, let's begin. This is the Tough Protector trait for your simmish world. I think this trait would go best with the Jealous trait
BTW, "Default Buff" means a buff that is random or triggered. Not something that has a specific timing.
There are 7 custom buffs to this trait, but first thing's first.
"Them" is how I will refer the sim's loved one. Brother, Sister, Father, Mother, Auntie, Uncle Joe, Wife, Boyfriend, Cousin Timmy, Husband, Girlfriend Felicia; whatever the sim is to the protective sim.
The trait makes your sim Angry by default. It's only +1 so don't worry; it can be easily overthrown. Tough guys/gals like keeping a rep, so naturally they would stay angry and grouchy constantly to look dangerous right? They also cannot be Dazed since they are always ready to protect "them". This trait will be found in the "Lifestyle" category since this is the sims lifestyle per say.
The learn all creative skills except for the Bartending and Guitar skills slower than most sims. Bartending because I would think to keep a tough guy/gal image, the first thing they do is hit the pub and drink up. And the Guitar is because I think it would give the soft side to the sim, also, I think it would be a anger release.
All physical skills are learned way faster than normal sims! Nearly 2%! This is because, since they are the protectors (or at least that's how they feel), they want to stay in the best shape possible, ready to intercept if ANYONE messes with their "Them".
All social skills are learned 65% slower. All musical skills are learned 50% slower. They learn all mental skills 60% slower except for Handiness, Videogaming, and Fishing. I feel like it would be hard for them to trust and get over their tough rep, hence slower social skill gain. For musical, I felt that even though they like to play Guitar, it still would take a lot out of them since they would feel insecure playing an instrument and being the tough gal/guy at the same time. And it's rare they ever get time to themselves to practice alone, hence less time = less skill. They would be so absorbed into becoming physical enough to protect "them" from harm's way that they probably wouldn't be the brightest crayon in the box... so to speak. Handiness, Videogaming, and Fishing are exceptions since these are all physical skills or, well, who fails at a Video Gaming skill? Seriously, and not a FPS either.
Autonomy is Hotheaded (Trait), Active (Trait), Family-Oriented (Trait), Angry (Emotion), Confident (Emotion), and Stressed (Emotion). It's kind of obvious, or at least to me, why these are chosen.
Moving on; they tend to be Confident and Angry, though they have a variety of emotions still. They are harder to get uncomfortable.
For the same reason as why their Social skills gain slow, they lose relationships 50% slower. Their relationships increase 75% slower; meaning, it's hard for them to lose friends and harder for them to gain them. Tough gals/guys based on stereotypical criteria (from books, movies, etc.) have a hard time learning to trust and a hard time keeping those friends due to their inability to get "touchy" and they tend to push the people they love the most away.
The trait includes about 23 (?) whims. A couple include getting into fights and being mean to keep their rep up, but majority include hugs, helping teens/children with homework, and love related whims.
Now, down to the buffs (You: you're seriously proud of 'em, huh? Me: Heck yes.)
First Moodlet/Buff is the "Everyone is Wrong!" Buff. This sim is completely tired of everyone patronizing them! Treating them like some broken kid or something! Always going on about "how counseling could help" and "anger issues" and, let's not forget this; "Maybe it was something they went through as a kid? They didn't have a childhood!" Blah blah blah to this sim. And no one lets it go.
It gives a Angry moodlet +3 for 2 hrs. But considering this is during a rage fit, and as a protective sim, they will never inflict real damage towards a loved one. In fact, they have a chance of becoming Playful, Confident, Happy, or Tense. Confident and Happy are if the sim feels like every sim has "heard" their testomony and will not be judging them anytime soon! Playful is if the anger towards a loved one just turns into playful banter and the sim calms down enough to take a joke. Tense is if the sim feels unheard and that nothing will change. Of course, use your imagination.
It is also a less chance for them to become Dazed (it's blocked anyways but...), Sad, Embarrassed, Uncomfortable, and/or Inspired.
This is a default buff, meaning it comes randomly. There are a few triggers to the buff like being Angry or Embarrassed (I would be embarrassed if someone belittled me because of anger management issues, deep inside). I just don't remember them so stick with me
Number Two Buff is the "It's Been Good" buff. The moodlet basically describes the sim in plain view; If their "them" is okay, they're okay. If the "them" is happy, they're happy. Simple. If the vibes are good and the toughie sim is feeling good, chances are you'll have this moodlet. It's been good, in other words.
It gives a Happy moodlet +2 for 6 hrs. So about half a day. They can become Playful but it's a less chance for them to become Sad, Tense, Uncomfortable, or/and Angry.
It is a default moodlet as well as a moodlet that happens on Lounge, Bar, and Club venues and when the sim is Happy, Confident, and/or Playful, it has a chance of showing up. The reason why it would pop up in a Lounge, Bar, or/and Club venue is because if this sim is able to take a break from being overprotective, then that means all is literally well.
Number Three Buff is the "Protect Them!" buff. Obvious why this is a buff but anyways, it gives your sim a Tense +5 moodlet for 5 hrs. Yyyeaa.....
They can become Angry pretty easily (since if some sim DID hurt them, there'd be hell to pay), but no other moods are really affected.
This is a default moodlet. It is also a moodlet that appears at hospital venues (So when the men go into parental panic PLUS this, when there's a new addition to the house, you'll be thanking... okay, wanting- to kill me. No regrets) and can pop in when the sim is Tense or even Angry.
The reason for the hospital venue is not only for fathers and mothers, but because anybody that ends up in a hospital, not Doctor's office, a real hospital; let's face it, there's bad news to come somewhere. Or at least in these sims' minds.
Number Four Buff is the "Gotta Keep The Rep!" buff. This causes the sim to be Angry whenever outside. (Yeah, meaning that inside they can be angry constantly since it's a default emotion and then this moodlet when outside, regardless.... sorry.) It gives them the Angry +3 moodlet for however long they are outside. Sometimes it'll pop up inside, but there's nothing (that I know of) that will stop it. But, on the bright side, when inside a venue or anywhere with a room, this moodlet (should not) appear.
Your sim can become Confident and more Angry (how? idk either) easily. But it is harder for them to become Happy, Inspired, Playful, Sad, Embarrassed, Dazed, Tense, or/and Uncomfortable.
It's a default and outside moodlet.
Number Five Buff is the "I've got to step up my game!" buff. Pretty much descriptive. Your sim thinks it isn't enough to protect their "Them". So the sim will receive a Energized +4 moodlet for 4 hrs. Use this like a blessing, because with this buff combined with the already raised physical skill gain; man, don't even kid. If there is A SINGLE reason why your sim can't at least achieve a level 3 fitness skill within a week (Irl time) time period...your sim is... really sad; I can't even put it down... (No offense ). They get Focused easier but have a harder time become Dazed or/and Uncomfortable.
Also, when this moodlet appears they will have a slower decrease in energy (very slight difference but it changes the game a bit, trust me) since they want to become their best to protect "them" with all they have.
A default and can also appear when wearing the Athletic category (ex: Change outfit to Athletic, not literally all clothes that look athletic, has to be in Athletic category) or when Energized or Focused. Also, it appears when at a Gym venue.
Number Six Buff is the "Such a failure..." buff. This moodlet happens because your sim feels like a failure because they couldn't protect "them". They failed. And they know it... They will receive a Sad +4 moodlet for 5 hrs (or it could be for 3 hrs. and 30 mins; the reason I can't figure out is because the sim I used for screenshot/testing was also sad due to low social interactions fyi) They have slightly higher chances of becoming Angry, Tense, or Embarrassed. This is because they failed and they know it, hence they could take it out on everything else with Anger or get so frustrated with themselves with Tense, or because they know they did it can become Embarrassed by it. They have a slightly harder time becoming Happy or Confident.
This is a default buff whilst it can appear when the sim is Sad.
Number Seven Buff is the final buff; that is (Drum roll please!)... The "That's Right" buff. This is my fave honestly. It gives a Confident +4 moodlet for 3 hrs. and increases the chances of your sim becoming Happy but decreases chances of the sim becoming Embarrassed almost to 'non-existent'.
This sim is proud because they did their job, they protected "them". They did their job and because of that, they're giving themselves a small pat on the back.
This is a default buff but can also pop up when the sim is Confident.
Alrighty! That covers the buffs and the trait. If there are any suggestions or ideas you guys'd like to share for me to implement, just comment and I'll what I can do. PLEASE don't reupload this content, thank you.
ONLY DOWNLOAD ONE FILE AS I HAVEN'T TESTED IT COMBINED AND I'M SURE IT WON'T WORK!!!!
Mk, this is my first trait so please only give comments (no duh) and/or constructive criticism. I made this trait called "Protective Toughie". I really need help with naming XD, but if there is any issues with the trait, please let me know right away and I might not always get right back. Since Drew Shivers's Protective trait is almost NO WHERE to be found, I decided to make my own for personal usage. Then, I decided to be a nice trait giver and share it to the world; shortly: took me all day so take it or leave it. Enjoy!

About Me
TOU- DO NOT REUPLOAD!!! You can mention me, link me, etc. (same w/creations) but when you start re-uploading my files? Oh no sweetie, we gonna start some up in here.
Also, I'm a complete nerd who loves genetics(yea..), gaming, books and writing, boring stuff, making fake HTML websites, etc etc. I'm boring. Also, if anyone wants to tutor me on script modding, I'm totally for it! I've been researching and doing testers! Hoping to upload some good scripts but that'll probably take some time~ Enjoy my traits for now!
