Home in the Dunes (pre-NL)
In building this cottage, I was trying to channel the spirit of the outer banks (of North Carolina) by using some elements that I remember from childhood vacations, and some houses I remember seeing there. Unfortunately having a home on the beach is not really possible in the sims (until nightlife) because you can see the other side of any bodies of water.
So what you see is a quaint looking cottage in the sand dunes, and a swimmable lake made from the maxis pool. You can pretend it is a bay, or a really big tidepool, or whatever.
The only custom content can already be found here on MTS2- mickyss' fish for the pond and lordgaret's blue marlin. Because I couldn't resist. Everything else is Maxis.
The house itself has a unique layout, is minimally furnished (your sims can fill their needs when they move in, but it's mostly empty), has three floors (with 3 bathrooms) and costs around 52,000. I've playtested it, and the sims have no problems reaching the door or any part of the lot- and that includes the fireman.
If this is accepted, it will be my first contribution to the site, and I'm really pleased with it. I hope you enjoy it.
Edit (I forgot this earlier): The lot does not require the EP. And I want to thank MikeInside for all of his excellent building tutorials.

Install Instructions
1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
- You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.
