Default New Monarch Glitch
Guys, I'm having a weird glitch where I can't select a new queen/king for my already established kingdom because of a quest (I can't remember the quest's name, sorry).

The previous queen went to build another kingdom and can't select her little brother or a new monarch to be the new ruler. When I try to create a new one on CAS it loads forever and it never gets anywhere.

Can someone help me with this or went through something similar? I really want to be able to play on my kingdom again 🥹.

Thank you!

Is your kingdom in the free play mode? As you said that your former queen went off to start a new kingdom, as is the option a player has after all the first ambitions have been completed. Are you sure that the place the game is at where you are trying to select a new monarch is actually completed? How long has it been since you played this particular game? I am asking if it is a bit of time because if a lot of time has elapsed, perhaps you may have forgotten at what stage the save you are now using was in when you stopped playing this kingdom before. Or perhaps you are just continuing?

Is the little brother of you queen still a child? Children sims have no extra animations like the adult sims do, so have very few interactions, I'm sorry to say. I see in your images that two other game sims are being shown to you, and you say they are not selectable? Sorry, but your images appear cloudy and dull to me, so I'm unable to see clearly much of them except the words. In case you are unaware, children cannot succeed their parents to the thrown, UNLESS, they have been grown up to adulthood.

Perhaps you might share more information about the set-up, and condition of your game, like perhaps mention what mods you might have installed, etc.?

Also with the slow loading it is likely that this particular game you are trying to continue, is quite loaded, and old. Old in such a way, that your queen is already ready to leave it and move on elsewhere. This must mean that all of your professional sims have been created, and the kingdom is full with all the buildings, the pavilion, king ball court, and many many NPC sims. When a kingdom is that full, your game is more likely to lag, and and load extremely slowly, and if it ever ends up completely loading, you are lucky. I am replaying the ambitions again now since I started in 2011, and stopped at about 2017, and in all my multiple plays of this game, I have learned that after I complete an ambition, I move on to the next ambition, which I had completed early, because this game's best ability is to glitch, and lag, and for some to crash.
EA, and Maxis don't give a hoot about their customers or their satisfaction. They did not program TSM nor P&N well at all.

Very high-end computers have difficulty with this game. But perhaps with your more completed information about your game, maybe there is a slight chance I or someone else may be of some help to you.

Take Care,

Xeny
