no it isnt functional unfortunatly ....I havent even begun to mess with animations to even begin to make this functional although i would have loved for it to be able to be used and gain mechanical skill while using it .....

Thanks . ... I have to kill time inbetween putting the kids on the bus and getting them off the bus so why not do something that I enjoy ....I've always liked to design stuff and actually went to college for architecture for a little while ...The only difference between designing stuff for the sims and say making someone their dream house is the pay is a LOT less ..I'm just glad all the great people at MTS2 appreciate what I make and can get smoe use out of it !!!!

yes they are ...Im lucky the siding company i worked for had them mounted right in the back of their straight trucks so no need to move or mess around they were always set up ....

wow I'm totally impressed. I grew up with dad doing siding work and this brought back memories of hot summer days picking up trash at job sites.

Great Job

I am very impressed with these siding sets you have made. You have done an exquisite job on these, especially with the scaffold rigs pics and break. I am truly grateful for this and really do appreciate it - I'll tell you a little about why in case you are interested.
I'm a general contractor specializing in all aspects of custom home-building and remodeling. Recently I was driving around my area in a truck with a roofing/siding contractor I do a lot of business with (actually he was my first employer in the construction field) and as we were driving down one road he said to me "You know, one could make a movie... It would start out with me driving around in this truck and as I pass by places it would go into a flashback (sort of ol'tarrintino style) and there would be a little scene, and then it would go back to me driving in the truck, and so on and so forth..."
I said "yeah man, we've been in this biz for a while - what would you call this movie, 'Walking CobWeb'?" When he finally stopped laughing I told him about the TS2 Game and all that could be done with it. I also told him about the TS2 modding community and explained that not only can I make some things that would be necessary to bring such an idea into fruition but there is an entire community consisting of hundreds of thousands of people who regularly produce or in some way contribute to the overall production of customized content for the game. That night I showed him what I was talking about we decided that he would provide the script and I would produce the footage.
Over this last weekend I made sims of this person and his family, his house, and some paintings and rugs that he has in his house (as the opening scene requires them) and showed them to him. He was very impressed and at that point we both became committed to producing this movie.
Tonight I dropped in to MTS2 in hopes of finding some particularly looking furniture and was lucky enough to come across this 'siding project'. I never would have imagined that someone would create something such as this, and even if they did I would never have expected such a top quality job of it. I have worked with and around this exact equipment regularly on a nearly daily basis for the last 20 years (so I do know it well as I own several of every one of these things myself in real life) and I have to say that your mesh and texture work is impeccably precise. Thank you so much for this. I can't imagine what possessed you to take on the task of creating these things but obviously you did and I really really appreciate it, it looks like there was a lot of work involved. This project of yours has greatly broadened the scope of this 'movie' that I and my friend are making. Again, thanx.

Well ,

since you decided to give me a explanation of why you like these items so much , I am inclined to tell you why I decided to make this stuff ...It is pretty simple really , I started out in construction work when i was 14 . My first job was a general laborer ..Ya know picking up stuff , helping with the little things around the site ...My second construction job my friend got me and was for a company that did everything but was focused more on siding .. So I started siding houses when i was 15 and found out i was actually pretty good at it , lol .. I have been siding houses on and off for almost 20 years now... I decided since i was pretty good at meshing objects I would add some "realism" to a base game that actually doesnt have much as far as a real life experience ...If you take a look at my profile you will see a bunch more stuff that you can find in everyday "real" life and i am proud that i can contribute something from my experiences to a great game ....

I am glad you are a contractor and can see the time and effort i spent into making my stuff as realistic as possible and still playable within the game and you are welcome !

PS - where abouts in NY I could use a decent paying construction job ... LOL
