@anie, can you do another quick test for me? Restore the original world and load to see if the stuck gray button is there? In the meantime, I'll go search for this to see if there's a known fix; I remember reading it in the Bug Thread @official forum or somewhere.

[eta]Let me know if the following suggestion works for you - in both the original (if it happens there, too) and the fixed world.
Quote:
Edit Town/Pick household

- Can't pick household, checkmark is grey (melynir, MelissaSh, magiccookie, trekkie78, cyrynpen)
--> Try deleting tmp files in DCCache and starting game bypassing the launcher
--> Try factory reset on first page.
source: Island Paradise Bug Thread (under Other Issues)
Note that the "factory reset" is the 3-step Game Problem FAQ in simswiki and does not mean a factory reset of your system.

OK, so on original world file, everything is fine. On the file with only routing fixes, everything is fine. The problem is only when I was adding fixes for the mansions.

How about the suggestions with the tmp files and new User folder? Doesn't help?

Do you have Tester access to my World Testing folder? If not PM me your email and I'll send you a link. You can try with the .world I used when I test the fixes before uploading here.
It'll take me a while to redownload and reimport to confirm if there's any differences with the files here than the one I have in-game, since I'm taking off for a weekend away in a couple hours.

Or wait for the .world version. Which I don't have an ETA as yet on when I'll be able to work on the upload thread. Between the patching and updating wiki and working on LTR mod, I'm running behind on my Sims-related-TODOs before the weekend.

I tried the custom fix method (this).. sadly, I still lag.. it's horrible, At least Oasis Landing doesn't seem to lag, so hopefully I can just get on with ITR.. even though I really wanted to play Island Paradise ... oh well..

Guess it's time to go back to Moonlight Falls and try out being a crazy scientist...

I don't run in Isla Paradiso very much, but thank you for what must have been an enormous amount of work. Its creators and devs like you that make playing games like this SOOOOO much more enjoyable.

@anie_1981,
still the same in new user folder, then? I didn't get a PM asking for Test access, so I suppose you're waiting on the .world version. I'm gonna get to that soon.

@JohnBigOz,
in a brand new (fixed) Isla Paradiso game? Or after how long of gameplay?

@mattphipps68,
thanks. Encouragements are always nice to hear.

@ellacharmed Can I post Isla Paradiso (fixed) on another forum? I am asking this because I need your permission first.

Hi cat2006house.
If you mean post the link to this thread, by all means! Any free advertising is welcomed.

However, if you meant to download and reupload the 7z files there, I'd rather you don't. If ever I need to update this, I would rather not have outdated versions floating around the Interwebz somewhere, as it would then be difficult to support users' issues with it. Hope you understand.

I will only post the fixed .world file I promised. I won't reupload the resources of routing fixes

Same reason...

The fixed .world version is in the queue - awaiting approval, currently - you'll be able to post the link to it once it's approved.

Do you think you could make one for University Town? It's probably the worst when it comes to routing issues and slow downs, which is a shame because I really like the improvements they made to The Sims 2's university system.

Thanks for your work on the other towns! It's really helped make the gameplay experience more enjoyable.

@AlanOwen, Sims University.world does not have a lot of routing holes, so I don't think bad routing is the main cause. If you'd like to post on my blog where the issues occur in your game, for the majority of the time, I'd get to it faster. Since I no longer play, I don't have any idea where the issues are if no one reports it to me.

If you guys haven't been following the developments in the fixed IslaParadiso.world, there's some changes upcoming for this world's fixes...on the Medina Lot.
While play-testing, I chose Doug Rodel's Household for the first time and noticed this lot tear (see image). Does anyone have any issues moving back and forth on the threshold of this Lot? The mail delivery kid and the University mascot came on over and move off-Lot without any complaints, however.

Many thanks to bigfeef for bringing it to my attention.

Still awaiting Rodel's Lot reports...

Wow this works like a dream. I did this with S3PE before I noticed you'd also uploaded the fixed .world file, looking over the directions with S3PE can be pretty daunting at first but I'd used it a little before, just following the instructions it's much easier than it sounds. I really enjoy Isla Paradiso and the IP features but after a while the lag just got too unbearable, particularly if I was in a larger house, but after importing these fixes I think IP is running better than any other EA world I have installed now. Thanks a lot!

Thanks to @trickai as reported in fixed.world thread, more issues were identified.
Fixes now lumped into one 7z file, made possible by the new site changes. Downside is you guys cannot now pick and choose what Lot you want changed, you're stuck with my edits.

Thanks so much! The lag has gone down so much... and it doesn't crash all the time anymore. Thanks again

I would really love to use this but I do not have this Path in my Electronic Arts Folder. So I am lost as to where it goes. Full path: \Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 Island Paradise\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds In my Electronic Arts folder I only have these options.... Collections, ContentPatch, CurrentGame.sims3, Custom Music, DC Backup, DCCache, Downloads, Exports, FeaturedItems, InstalledWorlds, Library, Mods, Recorded Videos, SavedOutfits, Saves, Screenshots, Thumbnails, WorldCaches. So where are you extracting the files to because I don't have this path: \Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 Island Paradise\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds

I might just being lazy today, but I need to know. Does this mod actually stop the super Lag that Island Paradiso has?

Hellooo from the future of 2018, is anyone still here? >.> I still want to play Sims 3 and I know I can't play without ellacharmed's world routing fixes! Just the prep to load all of the content and bug prevention has taken me several days so far! Anyway! I just wanted to point out that the file for Isla Paradiso, when extracted, doesn't create a .world file. It creates a long list of .bnry files with some .references files all dated 11/28/13. Do we have the wrong zip file uploaded, atm? Thanks for dusting off the cobwebs in the comments section here!

Edit to note I solved my problem by realizing I downloaded the Resources file and not the actual downloads for the world fix. All good!
