Thanks for the post lilfaye. I have trouble building as well, it seems I never get the building right without Sims livin' in it, and when I move Sims in to test the build, I get distracted playing the lil' folks.

Will download and post comments.

Cheers,

Simber

Oh, I usually wouldn't use a copyright liscence with this type of stuff, but I also post *some*, not all of my creations on the exchange on EA's website and I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this about the exchange but there is a lot of self-claiming going on for lots that wasn't theirs, just resubmissions by people without giving credits to the original creator. That bothers me a bit.

So what I did is use the CCL which is basically for 'intellectual properties or creative works' It's free to use, it's a not-for-profit organization. It is all legal. The only thing I used it for in this particular Dorm/apartment, is just the concept of it and it should hopefully keep other people from taking this and submitting it as their own somewhere. All the custom content that I used from various Sims 2 creators is all their work, I just copyrighted the actual building.

you do know if you change it into a non-dorm lot then re-upload onto the lots/houses bin you can put it in your neighnourhood as an apartment

I have a question, how do you switch a building you created over to "Dorm mode" instead of residential mode?

I'm making an apartment building! Which I consider really nice, its really modern, it is in residential mode. It has 8 sims living in it, all of them not related, just roomies. I'm not sure if I will leave them or kill them, to upload the lot. The lot will include tons of new objects, wallpapers, floors, and recolors.

Okay well, you open up the little cheats mode window. There's an actual name for it, but that's what I call it and then you would type...

changelot_zoning dorm/residential/community/greek

And just pick the one you want. But make sure that you're in that lot before you use that cheat.

The thumbnail is so dark, I can't really see the building.

Yeah, I'm working on a couple day shots. Had to uninstall and reinstall my game that's why it's taking so long. I'm slowly importing everything back into it. I thought the night shot was nice, even though a little dark because it shows the dramatic lighting.
