Ooooh Amy Brown's art! Her art is definitely unique and mysterious.
There's another Faerie art site, www.nenethomas.com which offers great art as well. It's more romantic-themed though, but just as good

I hope you have permission to post this artists work. If not it is copyright infringment. Amy Brown does protect her copyrights.
My wife is also an artist so I feel very strongly about this.

I'm an artist too. A Fine Arts major. If you noticed It isn't like I've claimed them as saying I made them. In the post it says 'Copyright Amy Brown'. Another thing, it's not like I'm making any money off of these. It's for fun, it's for the game. I credited her, copyright is hers. It's not infringement. People paste her pictures all over their sites, blogs, etc... It would be saying they were infringing copyright as well. All artists SHOULD protect their copyrights, but I personally wanted to put her art in my game, and I don't mind sharing what I make on here in case others would enjoy it as well. This is your first post huh? And you're already critisizing people?

To the others who have responded... Thanks

You still do not have her permission do you? Yes you gave her credit and yes your not making money off of it, but that still does not matter unless you have the artists permission. As fot the other sites If I run accross them then I will make the simialr statement to them.
And what difference does it make wether its my first post or not. And I wasnt critisizing I was just making a staement.

lilfaye...beautiful work. I apologize if this is getting too off-topic, but I would like to point out that I am also brand new to this site, but I have bothered to read the Rules and FAQ that the administrators ask all new registerees to look at before posting...and I'll tell you something: this site takes any kind of theft of intellectual property Very Seriously...do you honestly think that they would condone outright illegal or even immoral activity when it comes to this very same subject? In the first two pages alone, I have seen copies of work by Dali, Jim Davis, and I am certain that Disney has their images protected. I'll admit that I do not know the intricacies of copyright law, but I do know that there are ways of blocking attempts to copy and paste pictures off of websites, which is clearly where this person obtained these images.

The work has not been plagarized or manipulated, just adapted to use in our games. That in itself is hard enough to do, is intellectual property in its own right (as it applies to this website, at least) and this person deserves the credit for doing that. They are only trying to share something they like with us in hopes of enhancing our game, have taken time and effort to do so, and have gone about it in a proper and dignified manner within the construct of this website.

So...to lilfaye and other creators/adapters out there, keep doing what you are doing...it makes [my game at least] so much more interesting and exciting, and Thank You for doing it!

With regards to copyright:

The issue of copyright is an important one, and it is a good point that you raise. It is also one the staff discussed early on in the sites lifetime.

This is what we decided: Since the forums in which these objects appear allow anybody to post to them, and they do not go through the moderation queue, they are effectively unmoderated for these purposes.

If a copyright holder wishes for us to remove any images from MTS2, we will of course comply completely with thier wishes.

Until then, these kind of images are allowed in the non-moderation queue download sections.

Regards,
Delphy

I first discovered Amy Brown's work from a mod for the original Sims game. Someone made an Easal you could use which painted a few of her paintings, I wish someone would make something similar
