Thank you so much, now my Sims will finally stop running up and down the stairs every time I ask them to pick up the toddler.

I get both issues about equally lol. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the game routing system thinking there's too little empty floor space for the action/animation, and automatically rerouting the sim (and child) to the nearest free space that meets the requirements. "Nearest" space meaning in a direct line, in any direction, including an accessible floor directly above or below the sim's current position, that also requires them to pass through the fewest amount of doors/arches, not "nearest" space as in least amount of travel necessary to get there. I will literally have my sims walk down a hallway, past three 6x6 tile unfurnished bedrooms, to go downstairs and put them in the middle of the 3x3 tile entryway. This is the only explanation I've been able to find or come up with that makes any sense at all, and is the primary reason I very rarely use any of the existing multi-story houses, and instead build my own.

Just wanted to leave a comment to say how awesome this mod is. I installed it a couple months back and didn't think much about it. Then I started playing a save where I have 5 toddlers to take care of (triplets, ugh) and it was then that I realized how helpful this fix is. I couldn't imagine trying to juggle five toddlers (or even one!) without this installed. It is now a Must Have mod for me! Thanks!
