this seems very interesting, but does it have special jobs for after they get out of college?

This is not a career. It's based on the philosophy major, so any of the career tacks for that should be good to go unless you'd like to make a career relating to this one. I'm not a career maker, so that's out of my league

If you think you're a d/l whore, that must make me the madam... Don't forget, it's cash upfront or out on your a** you go!

Hey! I just tried it out. Here is my only request - it comes up with the psych icon under the majors options, but it doesnt fulfil the want of a sim who has that "want", and so sims who end up wanting to declare a psych major have no recource, and it's not ever showing up as a want. Wish I could have them both, psych and women's studies. Is there something I can do in PE to fix this? or at least replace one with the other completely? I looooooove the idea...and the classes are SO CREATIVE!!!! I can see all the thought that went into it....

If you don't like the major, don't download it. And please, keep your comments to those which actually pertain to the thread. You don't know me, and had you looked up the word "queer", you would have know that many American gays use it to define their sexuality. I should know... after all, my best friend is queer. BTW, those are titles of classes offered at a local university, with some tweaking by me. The letter B does not appear in the class title in SimPE, it's simply shorthand I used here. Another thing, before you bash people, it pays to use a dictionary to look up those big words. The word you're looking for is "degrading" as degrating isn't even a word (gotta love that good ole American edjumacation).

Next time, keep the ignorant comments to yourself!

It's spelled Hersery. Not Herstory.

Just wanted to say thank you for this download. As a Women's Studies major, I think you did a lovely job. I am currently taking a course under the title of Queer Theory and at an Ivy League university no less. Don't take any garbage from anyone telling you that it's immature or "degrating". Those are all real classes and real titles. I especially like how you included the Masculinities class as well. Personally, I like the purposeful mispelling of the class. I mean, have you ever seen what some of the names Maxis came up with? For Psych they had "It Is TOO a Real Science". It's supposed to be a little humorous, because the level of seriousness in college is in itself a little humorous. Thanks for your creative work!

If a unique icon could be made for it, that would be great though. Thanks!

I wanted to say thank you to Musiquefille for having a sense of humor.

In terms of the classes, they are written to be in the same mold of humor as the Maxis game. Plus we feminists need to laugh once in a while, damnit.

Thought I might clear up something:

In terms of the word Herstory, the origins come from this:

Many 2nd wave (60's and 70's) feminist were concerned with the way women were left out of history. The word itself - history=his story reflected those omissions. The term Herstory (Her+Story) refers to the acheivements and contributions that women have made yet have been left unwritten by scholars. Herstory is not a mispelling. It's purposeful spelling of a political statement. Google it, if you like, if I am not being clear.

It's a great major.

As for the phrase "2 B"... that's what my interns use all the time too - in a feminist job. I think its in line with Maxis humor - and I know plenty of people who can't spell that are far better feminists than grammar-nazi's.

Finally, the word queer. A lot of 3rd wave LGBT activists use the word queer because they dislike the boxes and stereotypes of bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender, intersex, and questioning. This is my job, and let me tell you - saying that whole sentence everytime I reference the community is hard - after the fourth or fifth time I beign to sound like a saturday night live skit. Some of us LGBTQI folk like the word queer and have reclaimed it to mean simply "not straight." Plus, we have found the need to find one word that ecompasses us all - you can't do community organizing if you dont have a common identity to organize around.

Honestly, it's generational. Older LGBTQI folks tend to ONLY like LGB, and me - well, I am no homophobe, as i AM gay, and I am comin' out of the closet as QUEER.
