Not to seem negative about your work.. but I always thought of my vampire's nightime advantage over his non-vampire peers as sort of a make up for losing so much ability to do anything by day.

It might be ok for someone using a no-burn during the day hack for their vampires.

Yes, Monique. This is another good idea. My vamps do seem to love to clean quite a bit - and I wasn't sure why, but now that I read this (and the thread you linked to above) it makes complete sense.

I'm wondering - since you seem to be more advanced at editing the BHAVs than I am, if you might know how to do the following based upon my Vampire Wants modification... Basically, it's pretty easy for me to modify the wants tree so that I can expand the types of sims that are into being vamps, but I don't know how to work with the BHAv's and such so that I can control WHEN those wants are triggered. Basically, now, the only time a vampire really wants to turn someone is during a few hour period after someone on the lot has just recently been turned. And, other people on the lot only want to be vamps (or fear being vamps) when they witness the actual transformation (or sometimes during a date if the vamp they are dating is mean - which is something I can control, but dating shouldn't be the only time it's triggered...)

So, I'm asking if it would be possible to make something so that at 7pm (the start of the night) all the vamps on the lot will want to bite someone and that all sims on a lot with a vampire at night will want to be a vamp, or will fear it. (if there is no vamp on the lot, then they probably wouldn't). I can tweak the want system myself, but I have no idea how to actually make a call to the wants system via a mod like this.

The main tree that I want to call is: 0x8fe04166 (in WantTrees.package). I think the tree might need to be tweaked a bit more to tune it so that a vampire's bite desire doesn't take over at night, but I'd be happy to work on that end.

And if you could show me in the package you make where the call is made and give me a paragraph or two explaining how it's done - I'd be eternally grateful - especially if I have permission to tweak that a bit so I could fine tune both ends. I'm not a complete newbie to development, just at reading the code in the packages. SimPE makes it easier, but I'm just having trouble breaking the code to know what all the various numbers mean.

If you don't have the time/desire for this, that's cool, too. I'll figure it all out on my own eventually!

Thanks for these vamp mods I've seen from you today! They're all things I've been looking for!

Cheers!
X.

Does this also affect the Count and Contessa vamps and any townies/NPC's that have been vamped, or just our own playable vamps?

Mabuhay Monique

I just wanted to note, I used Pescado's diffhacks tool on this and there was a slight difference between the code in OFB and NL.

There is one single new line:

Quote:
[prim 0x0002] Expression (My person data 0x0064 (Unused) := Literal 0xFE0C)

I'm not sure what it does, but this persondata might be a new field. Without an update of SimPE, I'm not sure what this field is or how important it might be. Just thought I'd let you know, in case you might need to include it for an update.

Any chance you could give me some idea of what that thread said? The reason I ask is that it is no longer available, apparently, and I too would like to understand the reasoning for this mod.

Feel free to PM me with any lot requests. I've mostly done house trailers in the past.

If your vampire has full social they won't talk to people for very long (on the phone or in person), also, with full fun they won't stick around to play games or watch the television. This makes your vampires somewhat boring and can make it a bit difficult to build up relations via the phone etc.
