There's only a vacation destination version also available for download, but I'm guessing you'd like a shopping district/suburb version of this.

You can convert the hood to a suburb yourself by following this tutorial. (Change neighborhood type to suburb.)

It's important to note that you cannot convert a hood to a subhood if the neighborhood already has subhoods of any kind associated with it, such as universities, downtowns, vacation destinations, and suburbs, but also Pets, Weather, Exotic Destinations, Hobbies and Magic, the hidden (stealth) ones that get created when loading the neighborhood for the first time.

Edit: Jawusa found a way to delete the stealth subhoods from a neighborhood.

Good, really good work. I wonder if the author would like to do the first island? There is extremely shortage of residential lots.

Unfortunately, I do not have the sims 2 anymore, I'd love to do something like this with the Sims 3 if I have time!

Hey,

this Neighborhood looks gorgeous and I'd really like to play it, but I somehow can't. I installed all the required Custom Content, put everything in the right folder. This isn't the first time I've installed a neighborhood (or stairs and CC) and the others worked just fine. I don't know what to do anymore. Do you have any idea or maybe I need the Terrain files to make it work? I tried the vacation version as well and it didn't work either.

I really don't want to waste your time, so you don't have to answer me or think too much about it. Anyways, I'd be happy, if you're able to help me... but it's okay, if you simply can't. However, thank you for this great neighborhood and your time you put into it!

Hi! Do you still have the sc4 file for this neighborhood? And if so, would you mind uploading it? i

Did you put the entire F140 folder in the Neighborhoods folder?

Nope, sorry. Out of all the files for this project, the sc4 one got lost first. You could try messing around with HoodReplace to get the terrain to another (new) neighobrhood, and figure out a way (on your own ) to get the roads from other neighborhoods to show up so you could properly add new lots.

Yes, like I said, I put everything in the right folders and this isn't my first installed neighborhood (the others work just fine). I normally can fix every problem, when it comes to games/ softwares...

My path is C:\Users\*username*\Documents\EA Games\Die Sims 2\Neighborhoods, since I don't have the Ultimate Collection, but I have every expansion pack, though, so this shouldn't be a problem either. Well, I am sorting things, because I get a new PC and I try installing it on the new one one day ^^ I saw the CC in my game, it has such a nice tropical vibe! Even if I can't get the neighborhood to work, I will keep the CC. I simlpy love it.

I have two questions! Would I be able to upload a minor edited version of the islander clothes, that categorizes all the everyday outfits as everyday + outerwear, and all the swimwear as swim + athletic.

Second, would I be able to upload my populated version of the island? I'd just do like a sfs link and post in in the comments here. as far as I know, my save file shouldn't have any corruption. It's got all the playable islanders living in lots, the castaways (aside from the MCs) living in one of the beach lots, and all the townie sims + hyenas set as townies. It's taken a few days to set up, and I know others would appreciate being able to skip the set-up.

Hey @k-athleen sorry for the late reply. And oh my god, the work you've done sounds amazing! I wanted to do this a long time ago, but lost the inspiration for it. I'd be more than happy to link to your creation on my main downloads page if you'd like, so that it doesn't get forgotten in the comments. As for the clothes, a link to a SFS would do as well. (MTS had some issues with the rules on sharing TSCS content on here, so I think it's best if such content is shared off-site.)

Populated Felicity Island
Here's a very rough, populated version of Felicity Island! It has all the playable islanders, and all playable castaways except Jessica Knight and David Bennett, so you can make your own choices at about whether to add them. It also has all the Felicity Island townies, and all of the hyenas. Some townies have had their skintone changed, since I was just making this for me and I wanted to havae a couple sims represent albinism. You can easily adjust skintones using SIMPE. Some sims have custom hairstyles, which will be randomized if you don't happen to have that hair. Many sims have a SimBlender on their lot, but it probably won't break your game if you don't have it. There's also a tiki bookshelf I used in a few lots, which you can probably find if you google "sims 2 tiki bookshelf", but it should just replace with another bookshelf if you don't have it.

This neighbourhood should not require ACR 2.0, but it miiiiigiht? I wasn't able to find an option to uninstall it, and some googling said you don't need to uninstall it in-game. So just be cautious about it? I have no guarantees or warranty for this version of the 'hood. I populated it entirely for myself.

Additionally, all sims with s5 have s4, so as not to require extra cc. You can download s5 here from MTS, and then edit simDNA in SIMPE. The DNA code for this skin is: 5586365d-495a-1c5b-3285-e883034d58ea

If people want me to do an updated version with s5 (and corrected townie skintones), then I can do that. I'm just too stressed to do it rn lmao!

I've made some cats as well, but I didn't integrate them into my copy of Felicity Island until well into gameplay, so they aren't in this version of the 'hood I'm uploading. I'll see about uploading the cat breeds to MTS! For now, they're all slapped in a .rar file. Just put them in your PetBreeds folder and they should work. They use Phaenoh's Custom Cat Patterns , which you'll need to download separately if you want them to look like how I made them to look. (You can see an example in my profile picture!)

Also! I've done some edits to the castaway and native clothes, which I'll add a link to once I get approved for SFS. I've edited the castaway ones to be hidden and disabled for random (I thiiiink), so that they don't spawn on new townies or when sims age up. And then I extended the native clothes to be enabled for some more outfit categories.

Also #2! Of course, all credit goes to topp for building this neighbourhood, Jawusa for extracting the sims, and the Sims Wiki for easy access to the sims' personalities and such. I just did the labour of slapping them all together.

@peanutbutter103 Honestly, I'm not even sure why I linked to Sims2Workshop... I think the site was already dead long before I posted this.

I uploaded the mod to SFS. It's unsupported, so you're adding it to your game at your own risk, yadda-yadda. Enjoy!

Updated versions
Hello there,

Yesterday I made fixed versions of your Felicity Island neighborhoods plus converted them both to suburbs. I thought I might as well share. So I hope you don't mind topp and k-athleen. All credits of course belong to you and everyone you have ever thanked, I just did some simple work to update them.

What's new?
In a quick overview, I created four versions of the neighborhoods:
- FIUM (Felicity Island unpopulated main)
- FIPM ( " " populated main)
- FIUS ( " " unpopulated suburb)
- FIPS ( " " populated suburb).

In all 'hoods I have fixed Saltwater Pools. It turns out the two walking portals were indeed hidden near the edges of the lot and Sims spawning there got stuck pretty easily. I moved the portals to where sims could roam about freely. One portal is placed on the shore near the waterfall, two others at the bottom of stone steps that I made. It seemed logical to me, as they create the illusion of a path towards the center of the village next to it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make a functionable portal for cars, so please do not try to visit it with a taxi. But I think that was the general advice topp gave on this neighborhood: choose the walking option!

In the populated 'hoods I additionally fixed the following things:
  • Stealth hoods: unfortunately, I saw that k-athleen's populated version contained all kinds of attached stealth hoods (no offense to you k-athleen, this is what I ran into and I simply wanted to trouble shoot). In Mootilda's Tutorial: How to Change the Neighborhood Type that I used to make the suburbs, I learned that this is fairly dangerous and that all shareable 'hoods shouldn't contain them. Especially as I wanted to make a suburb version. It's basically a corruption prevention measure. I deleted all stealths correctly using Jawusa's guide, as topp posted earlier in this thread.
  • Apartment residents: another thing that Mootilda's tutorial mentioned, is that apartments ideally shouldn't be inhabited when sharing a neighborhood. I really did have to move everyone out, I myself noticed how buggy the inhabited apartments were vs after moving them out and then in again. I kept the information of the apartments, in case you download the fixed version but want them living where they did in k-athleen's version.
    - Mamanu $660, Tuzu Walkway (at mailbox)
    - Whetu $161, Tuzu Walkway (to left of Mamanu when looking at Common Grounds side of Tuzu Walkway)
    - Fekitoa $305, Tuzu Walkway (common grounds side)
    - Hori Vaite (townie living at 4th Tuzu Walkway apt)
    - Roimata $995, Vista Walkway (furthest north-east corner, next to Vista Pathway North and Aurora Pathway West)
    - Herenui $767, Vista Walkway (next to other water tower, Tuzu Pathway East/Common Grounds corner)
    - Tehea $103, Vista Walkway (next to Herenui, Tuzu Pathway East/Vista Pathway South corner)
    - Merehau (townie living directly next to Roimata)
    - Maruata (townie living next to Merehau, next to common grounds)
  • Relationships and memories: I ran the hoodchecker on the populated neighborhood and it found all kinds of "warnings" so I let the program remove all of those things.

Warnings
  • I did some basic testing on my fixed versions, but I haven't played them extensively (yet). I do not think any problems will occur, but if they do I would love to hear about them. I made sure that I was very precise in the execution of these fixes. However, even though I am a long-time sims 2 player, I am new to changing 'hood types and sharing content etc.
  • I recommend you run hoodchecker yourself anytime you add a suburb to your 'hood. Apparently, just the act of doing that could create some random potentials for corruption.
  • Do not try to visit Saltwater Pools with a taxi (perhaps this goes for all lots).

Why?
I'm busy with composing my new uberhood (SimCity). Recently I watched a video by Marticore Riverblossom Hills after 60 Sim-days in which she showed how she had moved Alexandra O'Mackey (née Teatherton) to an island suburb she had specifically attached for her. Seeing as she left her family to become a dread pirate and all. I was inspired by her to do that in my version, too. So then I found this version of Felicity Island, which I thought was pretty ideal because a. I absolutely ADORE Castaway Stories, b. saves me a huge amount of work and c. I love playing with eaxis sims, including townies and it was a big win my Alexandra (and potentially other sims) wouldn't be isolated on the island. So then I decided to transform these hoods into suburbs. Something I had wanted to learn for a while now but had never dared to do until now. I must say, seeing Cindy (PleasantSims) work with hoodreplace a while ago really inspired me that I could do it too. So then I thought I might as well fix the situation with Saltwater Pools. And then I thought, now that I figured out the problem and how to solve it there, I might as well make an updated version of the main with a bonus suburb. Then I run into some trouble with the populated version (there were stealth hoods attached and hoodchecker found some trouble) so I set that straight as well. So that lead me to think: might as well also upload the fixed populated main version as well. That's how I got to these four versions.

The irony is, I play tested this morning and everything worked fine enough to publish. The only thing is, I saw the issues with the carpools and especially school bus (the Manave girl walked to school and never came back, RIP), and I didn't want to use all of the shipped default replacements. Even though the roadless hood is a great experiment and would probably work on its own in altogether different game settings with mods and default replacements included, I wasn't really satisfied enough to use them for my uberhood. But hey, that's just my perfectionism speaking here. I freaking love this thing in its own environment. And hey, who knows, it might even inspire me to create my own version with roads...

Thanks a million, Adrime! I appreciate your hard work. I've updated the original post to link to your versions too.

I'm too busy in real life to sit down and enjoy all these versions that came to be. I feel like Felicity Island needs a refreshment, perhaps to make it a bit less dependent on default replacements so that it could coexist better with other neighborhoods, and not just in its own environment. Also, the roadless lots really were a passion project, but the passion of making roadless lots for my Sims turned into a race against myself to push this download to MTS, so in some areas, it really falls behind and it's more of a visual aesthetic than functional gameplay - for example, Swaying Palms. Maybe next summer I'll have the time to sit down and redo certain areas of this world that could really use something more - Primeval Shrine, Barren Banks, etc. are just some of the lots that come to my mind. The Boneyard for example has been scratched completely, even though it existed mere moments before the world got uploaded, mostly because it was just a bunch of boneyard objects literally dumped onto the lot, saved, exited and never loaded again for refurbishment.

On the other hand, I really admire the architectural style of LordCrumps's Paraiso En Las Rocas, so I hope I learn something from there and make the hutlets a bit bigger and more accommodating the next time I take on this world.

Ooooh I am so psyched you've linked to my post. Wow! I might upload some new updates in a while, I came across a few more thingies that could use fixing.

Yeah I totally hear you. I've been toying with the idea myself to make an alternative version (why, actually two) that is indeed less dependent on mods and especially default replacements. Just this week I finally got my hands on SimCity4, so now I really can get going and experimenting. But then again, I always have a million projects and ideas going on simultaneously, so who knows what I will and will not do.

Out of curiosity, how did you even manage to create that whole neighborhood without roads? Doesn't need to be an extensive description, just the rough outlines/steps. I'm trying to figure it out so I can experiment a bit further and see what actually the problem is and how I could adjust the system. Was it something along the lines of making the hood with roads, creating the lots and then make the same sc4 without roads and hoodreplace it in, edit each lot separately to remove the roads?

FIY the more I play and experiment with the hood, the more I am in awe of the massive amount of work it you've put into it to create it.

I adore this Island, and I have visited it in another of my hoods numerous times, however, this time, I purchased the Aurora East lot, booked my vacation with my family and away we went...and now they've vanished. The lot loaded in Buy mode, and I cannot seem to figure out how to get it in live mode, nor find where my family is. Their home lot says they are on their vacation lot, but their vacation lot won't load outside of buy/build mode! Can anyone help? Has this happened to anyone else?

You're playing the vacation destination version, I suppose.

Check to see if the lot has a mailbox. Buy one (or replace the existing one) by getting the buyable mailbox:
https://modthesims.info/d/413573

Also, use Portal Revealer to see if the lot has all of the following:
Portal Car - Start
Portal Car - Stop
Portal Service - Start
Portal Service - Stop
Portal - Pedestrian (x1 or x2)

(The names might be off, it's been a while since I've used it.)
