Hi !

Your lot looks AMAZING, I just downloaded it and placed it in my neighborhood. I wanted to test it out, look at it from the inside and when it loaded up, I saw that the lot was at the same time a residential one and a community one.. my game then proceeded to crash !

I decided to go back to this page, see if anyone else had that problem, if it was normal and how to fix it, but I haven't seen any comment about it or anything in your post really.. I also saw in the screenshots that you also had the mailbox + the phone (signaling that it was at the same time residential and community), so you must've been able to access the lot without any problem ?

Is the double-type lot thing normal ? and if so, how can I access the lot ? (I should mention, my computer has no problem loading up big lots and I have the Ultimate Collection version of the game installed)

Thanks !

@reeptheSAW , sorry to hear you're having trouble with this lot! As uploaded, it is a residential lot, it just has objects (like the phone booth) that are otherwise only found on community lots, thanks to my flipping it back and forth between the two lot designations as I was building it. It's not something that should trip up your game unless there's a mod that doesn't like this kind of basegame trick (though I haven't heard of anything like that occurring before). The game should be able to handle community objects on a residential lot fine, so unfortunately I'm more inclined to attribute your issues to the size of the lot. I know you said you can usually play big lots without any problems, but plenty of my creations are huge even by normal 'big lot' standards, so that might be where you're running into trouble...

I don't know if the creator still monitors their comments, but I know the *exact* hospital pictured in the model in the last picture! I've been there many times. That's St. Francis Hospital South, located off I-65 at Stop 11 and Emerson Ave. in Indianapolis (Southport), IN. The main portion of the hospital opened in 1995, but the addition pictured in the model was completed in 2011. The addition replaced the original St. Francis Hospital on Albany St. in Beech Grove, IN, which opened around 1918, had a major expansion in 1970, shifted all services to this hospital and closed in 2012, and was demolished in 2017.

The all-glass portion of the building that juts out into the parking lot serves as the overhang for the emergency department dropoff. The cafeteria is on the second floor of that portion of the building, which gives some cool views of the parking lot and I-65. The portion to the far left with the heart on the exterior shares space with the heart center and the women's hospital. The older part of the building (faces Stop 11 and Emerson) still has the main surgical suites as well as office space for doctors. The back (new) half is where the patient rooms are.

It's not often I'll be looking at something and know exactly what it is, but this was a treat! Apologies if this was more information than you ever wanted to know, but I felt the story added to what's already a pretty awesome piece of CC.

Edit to add: here is a street view of the exterior of the inspiration.

@compdude512 I'm glad you pointed that out, that's really cool! I'd just found the 3D mockup somewhere when I'd been looking for inspiration, I assumed it was nothing more than a digital model- it's definitely fun to know there's a real version (sort of) out there! And I remember as I was figuring out what departments to put where, thinking that the ER really did kinda belong in that glass portion under the helipad (but there wasn't enough space for how I wanted to make it in-game- nice to know that my real-world architectural sensibilities were right though! Thanks again for pointing this out, and I'm glad you like my version of it!
