This is a replacement mod that changes the default map tags with a simple, minimalistic design. I was never fond of the original map tags, which looked like 3D bubbles reminiscent of mid-2000s aesthetics. With this mod, the tags are easier to see and more readable.

Change log:
  • Modern Map Tags V1 - original version
  • Modern Map Tags V2 - improved overall tags appearance

Following resources are replaced and therefore will conflict with other mods altering them. They were taken from DeltaBuild0 (located in Base game instalation folder\GameData\Shared\Packages). Here's a list of those resources:
  • ATLAS_MapTag_00 and ATLAS_MapTag_01
  • from ATLAS_MapTagColors_00 to ATLAS_MapTagColors_04

This mod will not conflict with anything unless you have something that replaces the exact same texture files as listed above. It's compatible with all versions of the game.

However, some custom UI mods may interfere with the proper functioning of my mod. If you still want to use any kind of custom UI mods, I recommend merging their UI with my mod. This way, the overlapping resources will be replaced by those in my mod.

Installation is easy: simply place the package in the Mods/Packages folder, or in the Mods/Overrides folder if you want to give the mod higher priority. Don't forget to delete the cache files after installing newer versions of the mod!
