You need The "CEP" - Color Enable Package (https://modthesims.info/d/92541/the...5-may-2009.html) for the recolours to work properly.

I made recolours of the Peg Toy Box from base game. You can find them by clicking on the Peg Toy Box and selecting your preferable colour of the toy.

There are four colours:
-brown
-gray
-pink
-blue

You install it by putting the files from .zip folder in your games donwloads folder.
