Important note about graves and safety:
All screenshots showing Sims and tombstones were taken on copies of the lot.
The version available for download has never been visited by any Sim and contains no graves or urns.
This lot is completely safe to place in your game.
2. Short lot overview
Iris Memorial Park is a no-CC community cemetery built for practical gameplay use.
Designed to be fully playable, safe, and accessible to Sims, this lot focuses on functionality first, with a clean Maxis Match look.
Is it another graveyard?
Yes, it is another graveyard.
But it was built to actually be used in-game.
3. Why I built this cemetery
Mostly personal reasons, but if you’d like to know, please read

Over the years, my main solution was always the same: an empty lot where I could place all my tombstones and forget about them. From a practical gameplay perspective, that worked just fine.
But I always wished the place could hold some sentimental value too. I know Sims are just code running on my old laptop — a collection of 0s and 1s. Still, I don’t play the same game for 18 years without getting emotionally attached to those 0s and 1s. I forget things easily, I move on quickly, and if something loses emotional weight for me, it might as well stop existing. Yet here I am, still playing.
So yes: feelings happened. And I wanted a place where I could remember my deceased Sims — a place that felt pleasant to visit — and where their family and friends could come as well. That’s why it needed to be usable by Sims, not just decorative.
When I decided to build this cemetery, three things mattered most to me:
it had to be playable, it had to look good, and it had to be safe for my beloved deceased Sims’ files.
This time, something finally clicked. For the first time, I genuinely enjoyed building a Sims cemetery, and the result felt right for how I actually play the game.
4. Gameplay & Usability
This cemetery was built with one main question in mind: can Sims actually use it?
Sims can properly mourn graves, cry, see ghosts, die of fright, run around, interact with each other, and perform all the usual interactions without routing issues.
All graves can be placed without using move_objects, and the entire lot is built on flat terrain, avoiding the common “steep terrain” problems that often interrupt autonomous actions.
Fences and paths were carefully chosen to allow smooth routing. Decorative fences around flowerbeds are fully passable, and the larger fences near the grave sections are placed in a way that never blocks Sims — they can always find an easy alternative route instead of complaining or giving up their actions.
5. Sims’ Needs & Facilities
This lot was designed to support regular gameplay, not just symbolic visits.
To prevent Sims from losing aspiration (hello, Knowledge Sims afraid of public restrooms) or leaving the lot too quickly, the cemetery includes fully functional restrooms, food and drinks, and basic fun options for different life stages and species (dogs, cats).
There are separate male and female bathrooms, a common indoor area with snacks and coffee, a small kids’ area, and a small space for pets. Outdoor areas also provide room for Sims to walk around, socialize, and spend time on the lot without constantly complaining about unmet needs, plus another pet space.
6. Memorial Park Concept
Iris Memorial Park is not meant to be a gloomy or gothic cemetery.
The idea behind the lot is closer to a Memorial Park: a place where memory and grief share space with calmness, greenery, and a sense of community. Even with literal ghosts haunting the grounds, the environment was designed to feel peaceful rather than heavy.
Families can visit together, children can play, pets can roam, and everyone can spend time remembering the departed without that gloomy, gothic mood during regular gameplay.
7. Capacity & Burial Space
Iris Memorial Park was designed to accommodate a large number of deceased Sims and Pets over long saves.
The lot includes 116 individual grave plots in the outdoor areas and 4 mausoleums with space for 52 urns in total.
* Because this lot was built with no custom content, there is no vanilla object specifically designed to display urns as wall niches. For that reason, the urn spaces inside the mausoleums are placed on coffee tables and end tables.
Players who use appropriate CC can easily adapt these areas to hold even more urns if desired.
8. Design notes & narrative details
The cemetery is organized into sections marked with Simgreek letters. In my head, these letters serve a practical purpose for cemetery management (something like “Urele section, fourth row, second grave”), but also help visiting Sims — and players — orient themselves in a large space with many similar paths. Grief can easily mess with spatial perception, and clear visual markers can make a difference. Sims don’t experience that, of course, but I imagined myself getting lost there, and designed accordingly.
The choice of irises was also intentional. The in-game irises felt surprisingly (lol) fitting for the purpose, so I named the cemetery after them.
Some structural details were thought through with narrative everyday use in mind. The low brick borders around the playground and the external pet area are meant to keep sand contained. Children playing and pets using sandboxes can easily turn the area into a mess, so these boundaries help make the space feel more organized and believable.
Overall, these details are small and not mechanically necessary, but they helped me build a cemetery that feels coherent, readable, and comfortable to use over time.

Install Instructions
1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
3. Install: Double-click on the .sims2pack file to install its contents to your game. The files will automatically be installed to the proper location(s).
- You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.
