Default Texture Appears Pixellated and Discolored In Game
Why does my texture appear like this in-game? I don’t understand why… When I go into Create a Style to change the color, the texture looks as it should, but when I leave Create a Style, it goes back to looking bad—pixellated and purple and green. Is there a setting in TSRW to fix this and make it look better?

You might need to adjust the mask height/width values in the material editor. Go to the mesh tab and click the three dots beside the 'default material' text, then at the material editor screen change the mask height and width values to 1024.

Also, when you import textures and this popup appears, take note that when you import a larger texture size (say you already have your texture in 512x512 and you imported something in 1024x1024) click 'yes'. Otherwise click 'no'.

First thing, is that for whatever reason, EA renders differently in game, from how they render CAS or build/ buy. Dumb, I know.

I agree with everything @aisquared said. Also, you may be able to change tiling of the part in question. I use this after resizing a garment UV for various reasons. If these are custom windows, and you had to make the UV smaller to fit into the map, re-tiling can also help. You do NOT have to just double a size. If the original tiling is 2, 4, you may need to only change to 4, 4, or even odd sizes like 3, 5. You can see the results in the viewer as you experiment.

I’ve tried everything you suggested, but it still looks the same. For reference, this is how it’s supposed to look, but it only appears correctly in Create a Style.

Hey. I checked your project file and exported it. Tried it in game and it actually looked fine.

By any chance, are you using the latest version of TSRW? I suspect it might be the culprit. Try using this old (but better, for most TS3 projects) version instead, as I was using this one when I tried exporting your project.

I used version 2.0.86.0, and it had worked fine until now. I'm experiencing this problem, and I have tried the latest version of TSRW as well, but I'm still getting the same results. I also tried the version you linked, but that didn't work at all for me. What should I do?

Hmm..to be honest I don't know what else the problem may be as I believe you have done it correctly when I checked your project file. As a last resort suggestion though, may I suggest doing everything from scratch, using another object to clone from, if it's alright? Sorry I couldn't be of any help anymore..

I took a look at your UV in Blender. The UV for the individual pieces is too small. Think this way... if you have a 2 x 2 square and a pixel is 1 square, you only have 4 total pixels for that piece. If that square is 100 x 100, you get 10,000 pixels in that square.

I took each piece from the top 2 rows and stacked the UV's, then made them bigger as an example.

As long as they're all the same color, you can even stack the 2 sets. So basically, you can stack the UV of all of the same color parts and then increase the size.

I often do this with garments, and even flip the UV of an arm and stack it on the other to give me more space on the UV map. This can cause things to look messed up in CAS, but they will look okay in game.

Then you can try making your texture a more reasonable 1024 x 1024.
