Amazing Download Day

Date Posted: 20th Nov 2015 at 2:27 PM

This is something puzzling although it has happened once before. On Oct. 28, I had 2136 downloads! When I checked the calender day, it showed that 1769 of them were of one house, Sea Horse Cove. This is surely some sort of glitch as I can't imagine that number of downloads of one lot in one day. As I said, it happened once before, a few years ago, and it was a lot called Above the Forest. Has it happened to you? Very curious!

Just feeling grateful . . .

Date Posted: 14th Oct 2015 at 11:52 PM

Just wanted to thank the many fellow simmers who leave nice comments, who download my lots, and who actually look at my blog! I know it's you guys because I see views from all over the world which is so encouraging. I was taking care of my parents who were in their 90's, but September 2014 my mom fell and broke her hip. She was in the hospital for 4 days and then her heart failed. My dad lived on until 3 weeks ago. He passed away in his room, asleep at age 100. I'm at loose ends, but I can tell you, that this site has been a great distraction. Building lots and trying to create custom content has been a good learning experience and as I said, all of you fellow simmers make it extra special. Thanks so much!

Are We Winding Down?

Date Posted: 27th Sep 2013 at 5:37 AM

Hello fellow sims2 simmers! Thanks, Cyshix, for the only upload in almost 2 weeks! I guess people aren't building for Sims2 anymore, or people aren't playing or downloading or both. Maybe it's just a temporary lull. I hope so, because it's still the most relaxing fun to build a sim house. I always enjoy seeing what people come up with. It's a bit of a risk to upload and hope it's acceptable, and then to hope that people will download and enjoy it in their game, but I've loved it and don't like the idea of it all being over. Is it?

meshing

Date Posted: 11th Jul 2013 at 2:34 AM

A few months ago, Lady Angel started meshing. I've been enjoying her site, SimFansUK a lot and I was honestly, jealous, when she started coming up with new items for the game! I wasn't jealous in a malicious way, just wistful. Well, she started writing tutorials and then she would answer questions and I finally got the basics of Wings3D. I can't get the hang of texturing, however. My items that I make are very basic but learning to mesh gives you such a feeling of power. When you want something for the game, you always ask yourself, "Can I make that?" It opens up a whole new world. But it's a hard road to get as good as so many creators are. The things they come up with look like the game makers themselves made them. What is my point? I think it's to recommend learning to mesh to anyone who wants to challenge themselves, try something new, and add to your game!

Hmmmm . . . Am I stealing?

Date Posted: 24th Oct 2011 at 9:43 PM

I believe that I'm trying to pirate Sim City 4 and that would be wrong. Instead, I promise to buy it. I apologize for being dumb and any future neighborhoods I may ever possibly upload will be made with legitimately bought games.

Huge Dreams!

Date Posted: 24th Oct 2011 at 7:42 PM

Now that I'm retired from teaching I usually have a couple of 2 hour blocks a day to build to my heart's content. Lately it has been so much fun to read tutorials such as waterfall building and swimmable lake building as well as using Homecrafter and SimPE to add so much more content to the game. Now my dream is to make a new neighborhood. If I understood correctly you have to have SimCity4 to build a new neighborhood, but you can then incorporate it into Sims2 game. If anyone reads this and knows otherwise I would sure love to hear! I downloaded a free version of SimCity 4 Deluxe from games4the world. I had to have utorrent and daemon tools for this. So far, my download is complete, but I will have to go back again and again to the youtube tutorial to try to get the game installed correctly so that it will run. Then of course I will have no idea how to use SimCity 4 and will have to go looking for tutorials for that! At least I can feel good about turning 60 years old and learning something new. I know it sounds terribly mercenary, but if I could learn to build new neighborhoods with lots of houses and community lots in them, would people be willing to pay, say a dollar for it? Is it taboo to mention money on MTS? I just am finding out how much work it is to create or find cc, build big lots, and then try to present them. Ask StephSim!! I love doing it so much that I don't need to be paid, but if only I could . . . Huge dreams!

200 upload achievement!

Date Posted: 4th Jun 2011 at 6:05 AM

This one is doable for me I think! At least I'll have a wonderful time trying. If anyone reads this and has a base game request for a lot of some sort, drop me a line. I need ideas and inspiration and the best place to get that is from the people who really play the game!

Sims 2 community

What a great group of people! Part of the reason I enjoy uploading so much here is because of the really nice comments and support I get from downloaders and fellow creators. Every now and then I'm overcome with happiness and have to say something! I really should thank all the people who make this site possible too! I hope you know you're appreciated!

Just Another Big Thank You!

Date Posted: 20th Aug 2010 at 2:48 PM

I wish I could write personally to everyone who has added me to their favorite creator's list. I used to do it at first, but I didn't make a note of whom I had written to, and I don't want to write to people twice thanking them because it might look like my memory isn't what it used to be (it isn't!). So, A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU. You're the reason this is all so much fun!

Back to School!

Date Posted: 8th Aug 2010 at 1:15 AM

Well, back to the real world for a while. I start school Monday. It's actually good timing because believe it or not, I sort of got my fill of building. If anyone especially wants a particular house that you think I might be able to build though, write me a pm and I will do my best to build it. I can either build only for base game, or with all expansion packs but no stuff packs as I uninstalled those. I also have Sims3 and High End Stuff. Thanks so very much for taking the time to read this and thanks again to all the wonderful people who have encouraged me!
