So I really should have been working on my requests lists. But an idea bit me, then wouldn't leave me alone. The idea? Infant MerBabies. Wait. Don't those already exist? Didn't Marvine enable them with the rest of the mermaid set? Well yes. But only as default replacements. Since that was the only way we had at the time to change how infants looked. Then Chris Hatch finds the already in game code to enable us to change infant outfits. And now we have the ability to make each baby wear something completely different. I had the urge to contribute my own baby clothing, but what could I offer that would be unique? And then I was thinking of the MerSims and how I was limited to Marvine's MerSkins if I wanted babies with tails. And to be honest, I'm not a fan of the colors of those. My MerSims tend to use really bright colors, or skintones from Astiee's Sparkling Flesh sets like the rest of my sims. Then I realized I could grab Marvine's mesh, make it work with the recolors better, and have lots of options for my MerBabies. So that's done. I really should have been packing my room in preparation to move in less than three weeks, but I'm a fan of procrastination. I'll get it done even if I end up not sleeping for three days just to get the packing done.

So I'm still alive. I still remember how to make sims stuff. I'm going to go poke at my requests folder now. ~VP

I'm still around, but I haven't touched any requests in a long time. Playing Challenges has occupied what free time I happen to have. That and recently trying to beat Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds. I only have a couple more dungeons to beat, and I only had to go for help a couple of times. I keep forgetting about the wall merging feature... Anyway, I can tell you that I haven't been doing anything with my backlog of requests because I'm totally uninspired. I'm hoping that once I move at the end of May, that will change. Hopefully having my own room again will reopen my creativity. At minimum I can burn my green candle again, and that always helps me. Just thought I'd let y'all know I'm still alive, and haven't completely forgotten about you. ~VP

Hi everyone! Ok, so my computer is still doing okay aside from an occasional "plugged in, not charging" thing on my battery, but I know how to fix that when it pops up. My downloads folder is finished, and my Test of Time challenge set up. But I've been putting almost all my spare time into playing the challenge so I haven't been working on creating lately. Sorry. But SimDrew poked me recently and I have managed to finish the Link Hat and sent it off. So hopefully we can be seeing a very awesome Link Sim pop up on the downloads page in a few days. What I really need to do is poke at what I salvaged off my external hard drive and see what needs to be done on other requests. Which I simply don't have time to do right now since I have to leave for work in a little over an hour. Iguess that's about it for now, I just thought I'd let you all know I was still around. ~VP

Hi everyone! A short and simple update here. First, I got a new (used) computer so I'm several months ahead on getting back to working on stuff. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my downloads folder (it's comprised mainly of mods and hacks and hairs now, since that's the majority of stuff I actually use.) Once that's done I can get back to my request list, when I'm not trying to test out the beta version of SimTracker2. So far I haven't actually tracked a family I'm playing (since I haven't made any in game) but have made up random people to test out the main functions.

Secondly, with the death of my computer I lost EVERYTHING on it. The good news, I had at some point backed up certain folders to my external hard-drive, the one containing my Sims Requests among them. The bad news, some of the more recent work done in them was lost. This definitely includes the better looking mesh for SimDrew's Link Hat, and may also include some parts of the Uber-Family Dress, part of the Minnie/Mickey Mouse sims, part of the decorative flasks (though I still have all the meshes for that one, so I only lost a file or two that I was working on putting the meshes into), and part of the Trench coat accessory that I finally got to not bleed through on the edges (but also eated eyebrows, but I figured out how to fix that as well while working on the Link Hat). I definitely lost all the pictures I had taken for the Uber Family dress, the trench coat, and the Minnie/Mickey sims. I haven't fully investigated what did or did not get lost (beyond the pictures and Link Hat) but I'll get to that sometime in the near future.

And thirdly, the reason for actually updating my journal. I was looking on my "Accomplishments" tab and noticed that I've finally gotten my "Archeologist" badge! Maybesomethingdunno and I have been poking the mods for these badges since he uploaded the jester mask as a wall deco and I took the guids from his post and made the mask, bracelets and plumbob earrings into working accessories. Well we might have given up after a while in the interests of not annoying people, but we DID poke quite a few times, but the point is YAY! IT FINALLY SHOWS UP ON MY PAGE! I'm honestly not sure how long it's been there, as I don't make a habit of looking at my own profile, so it could have actually been put there months ago and I'm just now noticing, but who really cares?

Anyway. that's about it for now. I'm going to go look through four-ish more sites, wait I just thought of another one, make that five more sites, and raid them for downloads so that I can consider my Downloads folder acceptable for play, run the HDCU and weed out conflicting things, then maybe get my ToT challenge set back up so I can test out SimTracker2 better. And if that doesn't eat my entire weekend, I'll get back to work on my request list, starting with the Link Hat. ~VP

Thus is a heads up to everyone who has requested something from me. My computer just died (the motherboard needs replacing) and I won't be able to get a new one until the back to school sales in the fall. So it'll be a while before anyone gets anything. ~VP

I'm really bad a keeping up with my requests aren't I? I have managed to do some stuff. I've taken pics of the Minnie/Mickey Sims, but I need to go looking for some of the stuff they need before I can upload them. And I figured out how to fix the sleeveless coat, and fixed the fact that it removed eyebrows. And I took pictures of that too, I just need to track down where some of the clothing items my models are wearing came from. And I got half the pics done for my uber family dress. I need to fix a bit on the toddler mesh before I can take pics of that one. Part of it dips into the center of the chest, leaving two small but visible patches of skin

But most of my effort has gone into fixing tommytigers Link hat for Simdrew1993. It's close to done (and suffers from removing-eyebrow syndrome). It does however play nicely with other accessories, as shown in the following picture. My plumbob earrings spawned on the model when I went to take pics for Simdrew.

I have worked on the mesh a bit more, namely puling the tail down a bit. And I figured out what is causing the eyebrow eating feature, even if I can't figure out how to make them come back on an already made project. The item I cloned (Shrek ears and I can't currently remember the creator) had eyebrow eating built in. And if I try to put the eyebrows back, the accessory pops off. I was using that one b/c cloning maxis glasses causes my game to have bleed through issues (the reason the sleeveless coat got rejected) that pass on to others; and the help thread I started suggested those. But I just discovered that if I clone my Plumbob earrings, there's no bleed through, and the eyebrows stay on. Unless of course I play in the file and manage to copy settings from the non-eyebrow version to the eyebrow version and make it into a non-eyebrow version. It totally displayed in-game with eyebrows, then I tinkered with categories and whatnot while in SimPE, and thought "hey, lets copy this stuff from the old file since I had that one set up just right. It only eats the eyebrows, and copy/pasting is so much easier" You would think I'd learned my lesson about taking shortcuts with the plumbob earring fiasco. Apparently not. But it's easy enough to fix. In both cases. The earrings are just time consuming because there are so many.

So that's what I've been up to. Hopefully I'll get the hat done soon. I'm sad to admit I just spend my entire two days off playing various games (including Sims) and not working on meshing or creating. ~VP

Sorry for pretty much abandoning everyone for a while! I got really caught up in playing my ToT challenge, and lost all enthusiasm for creating! I'm (hopefully) back now. I was looking at the page for SimDrew1993's Link (from Legend of Zelda) sim. It looks pretty good to me, but the hat/hair are having an issue. It was pointed out on the thread that I am apparently one of two creators on the "Creators Who Take Requests Thread" that does accessory meshes/mesh edits, and that I was not responding to someone who did PM me for a request. To anyone who has PMed me without response: I'm sorry. Either your PM got me when I was on the site for a very specific reason (and my attention span is short so I set it aside with every intention of looking at it later but then forgot) or I was feeling lazy that time. In Dizzy-noodles's case, it was the former. I"ll go back and yay or nay things shortly so you should get a reply probably before you read this message, if not very soon.

So yes, I'm back again. honestly I haven't done anything, even take pictures. I'm going fix two items that have transparency issues, then boot up the game and take a bunch of pictures. I need pics of the Uber family dress, the Minnie and Mickey sims, my smaller glucose monitor, and the bottom edge of my sleeveless coat to show that it's fixed.

Once that's done, I will get back to my request list, at the top of which is the Deco Flasks and the mesh edit for SimDrew. Dizzy-noodles's request for a combination of two Adult Male meshes has been added to the bottom.

And someday, I'll get back to the stuff of mine that needs to get done, namely the Deco Dressers and the Plumbob earrings.

Anyhow, once more, I'm sorry for abandoning all of you. Perhaps I need to make a (late) New Years Resolution to get through my requests list? Maybe not since most people end up breaking their resolutions. ~VP

Hi everyone!

I've not done much with sims at all recently. I have managed to get my Minnie Mouse head to top its bleed through issues, though now the bow isn't appearing and I'm not quite sure why. I think I linked to the wrong version of the mesh, and i haven't gone in to fully check that yet. Also I made a few more of worry_faraway's flasks. I just haven't had much motivation lately. I did accept a new request or two, but I'll be dammed if I can remember what they are right now. Don't worry though, they ARE written down, I'm just to lazy at the moment to go looking for them. And, yeah, I guess that's all for right now. Now if I could just figure out why some of the keys on my computer are not wanting to press correctly. Or find the can of spray air so I can clean out the keyboard. I'm pretty sure that something just got under the keys. ~VP

Hi everyone!

I haven't done much of anything with the Minnie Mouse sims since my last update. I think I'm burned out on dealing with bodyshop type stuffs, including figuring out why accessories refuse to display correctly the first time.

So I went to my list of stuff to make, and the next item on the list was for objects so I decided to do a bit of work on that instead. (Don't worry Tony, I'll get back to your sim soon enough!) So I've been working on making decorative flasks and such for a lab. Worry_faraway provided me with a picture of what he/she wanted and there were three types of flasks there, so i made three different ones, then I sized them all so that there are three sizes of each one. The meshwork is completely done, i just need to make all the object files, test in game, then there's the matter of recolors (at least eight if not ten for each one, but I can link same objects together so I only really have to recolor three of them.) I'm also debating making versions that are about the same size as a sim, just for the hell of it, and to make me giggle. The current ones are sized so thay are in proportion to the sim (unlike my glucose monitor object)

Speaking of the glucose monitor, I also resized that while playing in milkshape. The file is ready to go, I just need to boot up the game so can take a picture before adding it to the thread. Several people mentioned wanting a sim-sized version, and I finally felt like making one.

In other news, I thought I might post the updated request list. I've removed all requests that I've worked on, so this is only the stuff I haven't touched yet.

1) ekrubynaffit and x_kisses_for_yooh_x - bathtub sofa from Breakfast at Tiffany's
2) WildPigeonChase - edits to two outfits from the game
3) sweetbaby160 - some decorative urns
4) sumbody77 - sega genesis gaming system
5) Iwa_Deidare101 - N-Gin's missile as an accessory
6) Motleyfan102 - a harp accessory from one of the dudes in one of the final fantasy games
7) DoReMiFaSoLaTiDo - some columns/arches
8) KatsumiKoomiGogo - an alteration on GeneralZoi's loincloth mesh
9) the evil writer - another maxis item as a decoration, this time the toilets.
10) portisheart - enabling a hidden object in the game. This one I'm keeping secret until its release. Unless of course it gives me issues that I need to seek help on.
11) gulhare - some additions to a kitchen made by someone else. I've already forgotten the name of that creator, but it's written down, plus I already downloaded the appropriate files, and since it was from MTS, the creator's name is on the zips

Okay that's everything. On the still needs to finish list is:
1) pics of the uber family dress
2) fixing the transparency issue on the coat accessory, taking new pics where needed
3) fixing the transparency issue on the mouse head, adding a little bit to the textures, and taking pictures
4) almost everything on the decorative flasks. One file is ready to test in game. I need to make eight more

And then there's my own stuff which includes editing the files for my plumbob earrings so that I might be able to release them for all ages, enabling all the two tile deco dressers to have slots, figuring out what's wrong with my sunglasses mesh, enabling more hidden jewelry i found, and a slew of things for my little sister (who appears to have forgotten she asked for this stuff. Shh! Don't tell her!)

Okay that's about it right now. I'll see you guys later! ~VP

Ok, so I promised to update if I got my Minnie Moues dress working. And I did. The Maxis T-shirt mesh worked perfectly for the upper bodice, a dress from Celebration stuff provided the skirt, and something from base game provided the heels. They all got combined together and look rather pretty covered in red with white polka dots. I found a balck skin I could use and got both Minnie and Mickey into my game. I was taking pictures when i noticed that my mesh for the heads has issues. Parts are showing through other parts. I thought this was only happening to me when I made stuff alpha enabled, but I guess not. It looked perfect in Bodyshop too. So I'm off to see how I can fix the stupid things, so that I can take my pictures and get these guys uploaded. ~VP
