Family Tree and Email Address
Date Posted: 3rd Sep 2013 at 1:50 AM
Howdy ya'll!
No, I'm not Southern.
Anyways, several people have alerted me that the characters in my story, The Pleasantview Diaires, are getting hard to keep track of. Who's related to who and why, names and dates yadda yadda. Considering the nature of my story, knowing that information is pretty important. To help everyone out, I've created an interactive family tree. It's pretty neat, so you should check it out. Especially if you're struggling with names and faces while reading the story. It's up to date with the story, which as of now, is at chapter 19. I will try to keep it up to date. So I guess, spoiler alert, don't look at it unless you're up to date with and have read the latest chapter. Here is the link to view it. There is also a link on my profile as well as in my signature.
For the readers (if there are any) who do not have an account on MTS, I've started providing my email address. Please, if you read and enjoy the story don't hesitate to email me at hmrnd3@aim.com. If you do have an account here, you can just comment or send me a PM.
Thanks for reading, commenting, and motivating me!

Updates
Date Posted: 31st May 2013 at 6:01 AM
It's been a while since I've posted a journal entry; I've been behind on The Pleasantview Diaries too I've been so busy lately with graduating high school, getting ready for college, and dealing with my new diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. I was in the hospital for a while, and then pretty messed up for a good week after my spinal tap. Fun fun
But now I am well again and today was my last real day of classes, so the chapters should start coming back out pretty regularly (weekly). Summer is around the corner and I will have tons of free time! I owe everyone a late chapter 10. Chapter 11 is due this weekend and should be out on time...hopefully.
I've been getting a lot more fan mail and feedback lately which makes me feel super happy and accomplished, so keep it coming!
Also, the cute little park you see (which I made myself) in chapter 9 has been submitted to MTS2. Hopefully, it will be accepted and then everyone can download it! Keep an eye out for it

Smell the Roses
Date Posted: 27th Apr 2013 at 4:10 AM
It's been a while since I've updated my journal, (not that anyone cares). Regardless, I'm pretty proud of myself for how my Sim story is going. I'm 5 chapters in and have been adding a new chapter each week, which was my goal. By some lucky miracle, I've been able to complete them on time. Once I finish this journal update I'm going to launch er' up and take the last snapshots for chapter 6, which will hopefully be uploaded tonight. Let's be realistic here, I'm tired and have to get up early. I'll probably post it on MTS tomorrow.
I'm barely getting any comments on the series, which saddens me. I'm beginning to think Sims stories aren't a huge interest of the MTS community. Then again, I'm getting tons of view so maybe they just really don't want to comment! Ha ha, oh well! I'm still having a blast writing, and playing Sims of course.
My computer virus is still running rampant, but I managed to get Sims working again. Still, I had to redownload all my CC and replay all the same families to the point my story left off on. You may notice some character outfits, makeup, and/or hairstyles are different. Collectively, all the PC processes are still pretty slow. Fortunately, I'm able to work around it for the most part.
Anyways, things are going well. Life is good. Stop to smell the roses. Stay in school. Blah blah blah.

Gosh Durn Computer Problems
Date Posted: 2nd Apr 2013 at 7:00 AM
Recently I've encountered some serious computer problems. This has been a major setback for me concerning my Sim endeavors.
I was infected with two pretty severe viruses which I'm pretty sure I got from The Sims Resource website while downloading hair. I don't plan on going back there, which is a major bummer because they have some spectacular hair meshes and recolors.
Anyways, the viruses are unmatched by 4 different anti malware programs, scanners, etc. After doing some research, I learned the particular registry error and trojan horse I have are especially hard to get rid of. They are the sneaky kind that lurks deep within your registry where antivirus scanners can't find them. They also mutate, slow your computer tremendously, and can be remote controlled by other people and such to do whatever the hackers want them to. Hooray.
Since the infection, I've experienced a lot of lagging and crashing with my computer. Worst of all, my Sims 2 files were somehow corrupted. So I've lost all my downloads and saved games, lots, everything. At one point I had it fixed so I could at least launch and play Sims (although the neighborhoods were like I never touched them). But now the game won't work again; it won't even load as far as it did.
I'm pretty peeved and frustrated by all of this nonsense. I guess I'm supposed to manually remove the viruses. Hah. Yeah right.
Hopefully I can get Sims 2 up and running soon. I was hoping to work on The Pleasantview Diaries during my spring break, but now it looks like I'll be twiddling my thumbs in my computer chair while I hunt for trojan horses and run scanners. Grr.
Wish me luck, and if you actually read my Sim story, don't worry! I have the next two chapters completed, ready to upload within the next two weeks. Regardless, wish me luck!

Ho Hum
Date Posted: 30th Mar 2013 at 5:45 PM
I just uploaded chapter 2 of The Pleasantview Diaries. It was supposed to be posted on Sunday, but I could wait anymore! I also figured a lot of people would be busy with family things and not reading Sims stories tomorrow since it's Easter. So we'll see how it goes! I'm hoping to get more responses and some fans!
Working on my colleges isn't going so well. They're really big and freak my computer out. So much so, it crashes often. I don't know if I'll be able to finish them. Yikes. But I haven't given up quite yet!

Creating and Scheming
Date Posted: 26th Mar 2013 at 4:10 AM
My school was cancelled today due to a suprise snow storm. Happy spring. On the bright side, it gave me the chance to get a lot of work done on my sim story as well as my custom colleges.
In regards to The Pleasantview Diaries, chapter 4 is about halfway done. So far, only chapter 1 has been published on MTS2. Planning on adding chapter 2 on Sunday, the 31st. I've been getting lots of views, which is good. No comments thought, boohoo.
My custom colleges is a project I schemed on a while ago but just now finally started. The plan is to build about 9 different colleges based on the scholarships that are offered to teens in TS2. I don't want to give too much away, but the schools will be centered around career tracks, hobbies, and skills. For example, the Kim Metro Prize for Hygienics inspires the Kim College of Botany and Horticulture for sims who want to go into the oceanography or natural scientist career track. Or for sims who don't have a career oriented LTW but love the nature hobby. I'm really excited about this project, and glad I finally got started! Hopefully the first college will be uploaded this weekend!
Ta ta for now!

The Pleasantview Diaries
Date Posted: 25th Mar 2013 at 4:57 AM
Today the first chapter of my new series, The Pleasantview Diaries, was accepted. I already have chapters 1-3 and part of 4 completed. I'm hoping to add a new chapter every week. Also, I'm hoping that my story is well received by the MTS community. I'm really hoping to get some solid comments and critique. Anyone can feel free to comment on the story thread itself or this journal entry in regards to my story.
Take care!

Flamingo Estates Collection
Date Posted: 23rd Jul 2011 at 7:32 PM
Back when Sims 2 first came out and I was a small child of 12 or something, I purchased my first copy of the Sims 2 and made a custom neighborhood I so cleverly named Flamingo Estates. Several years later after swapping out computers and reinstalling Sims 2, I decided to recreate my beloved Flamingo Estates neighborhood. Actually, more like make a new neighborhood with the same name that is nothing like the original. The old Flamingo Estates consisted of overly spacious houses with no roof and 5 sinks in every bathroom. I plan on having 4 semi-matching homes in the collection, possibly more. I hope you download and thoroughly enjoy the Flamingo Estates Collection. It's a sweet little piece of my childhood.
