I'm playing with SimPE and am having a ball. I may expand what I upload, but I want to continue making my walls -- which are pretty much my bread and butter.
1. I've still been thinking of making a Roman build set based on classical walls. But since I would be recoloring (fireplaces, columns, doors, etc) instead of creating new meshes (I'm not even proficient at recoloring) I hesitate. There were so many wonderful submissions of the classical variety (including build sets) due to the Creator Challenge and it would be very difficult to contribute something unique and it would be impossible (with my skill level) to even come close in quality to many Roman items and sets available through this site. I'm deeply conflicted about the whole thing. It always takes a great deal of time for me to create molding that I am happy with, so I want to be completely sure that it's worth the headache.
I may decide to do it just because I want to.
2. I've been trying to recolor the art nouveau wood-backed chair, loveseat and sofa from the base game. Unfortunately, it always ends up incredibly fuzzy. I tried to sharpen the patterns to the point of insanity -- spending several hours in all --, but nothing seemed to work. You can't win 'em all I guess.
3. I have my first long-term project goal. I want to learn to replace all defaults with Victorian-themed items/appearances/NPCs. Baby's bottles, pay phones, roads, gardeners, school buses, etc. I want to alter it all using items, clothing and meshes from other sites. Also, I want to create careers with Victorian uniforms and vehicles. Then I want to upload it to this site as a set. Good idea?
