Yay! Just posted a pack of 4 Christmas patterns. The Japanese patterns have been postponed until I find a way of making them look good.

Delays and Frustrations

Date Posted: 16th Oct 2009 at 3:34 PM

Well, the painting I tried to post has been delayed. Not due to the wonderful moderators, but due to my own errors in not putting the price of the piece in the description or adding a 2nd screenshot.

Also my desktop monitor may be dying... I can resurrect it for now by turning it off for 5 minutes or so and then coming back, but I fear it may only be a matter of time. As a result, I'm doing the photoshop work for my japanese patterns on my macbook and saving them to my plumbob thumbdrive. I'll use my desktop only for packaging/testing for now. Got to make that monitor last... I can't afford another.

Edit: Woot! Plumbobs by Andy Simhol is now up and available! Yay!

7 Victorian Pattern pack is up!

Date Posted: 14th Oct 2009 at 4:09 PM

Well, my second Victorian pack is up and seems to be doing well. And I submitted my first painting mod last night as well. Took me a couple of tries to get it packaged right (two words: Alpha Channel) but it looks good now.

I have now reached the point where I'm seeing Photoshop in my dreams... Not ready to tackle milkshape yet. I get these ideas in my head (like the painting, which is sooo not Victorian) and have to get them out. The Japanese pattern pack is the next idea in the queue.

It will probably be a while before I post it. I want to make my first BIG pack of patterns. But I also want it out on or before World Adventures comes out. I'll babble more about it over the next couple of weeks.

Tile and Trials...

Date Posted: 11th Oct 2009 at 5:41 AM

I've been working on a package of tiles... problem is, that things labelled as Morris, might be Morris company, and I find out later were by Webb or DeMorgan.

I'm tired, I'm frustrated, I'm not working on this any more. I'm going to bed.

Argentee 1 : Frustration 1

Date Posted: 8th Oct 2009 at 4:47 AM

And the score is tied... On the plus side, finished the Morris Pattern Pinks and Roses tonight. On the minus, Bird & Anemone looks -fine- in DDS, then mysteriously develops seams as soon as I import it... and not on the edges, but in the middle of the design! I think they're "false" seams caused by repeating horizontal elements in the pattern that scaling down to 256 x 256 makes look too thin to look good.

Grr... Will start over tomorrow or Friday.

Victorian obsession...

Date Posted: 7th Oct 2009 at 3:20 PM

My first 3 Morris Patterns I posted seem to be well liked. So I've been really pumped to keep going.

I finished two patterns last night (Medway, Larkspur) and posted a third for feedback (Acorn). I attempted to work on Morris's Acanthus again, and was soundly defeated. That pattern exists solely to mock me, I swear.
