From all the staff here at MTS, we'd like to wish all of our members and guests a Happy Holidays, and a Merry Christmas!
It's been a few years

I'm back. I've been away for quite some time (years). I was stubborn and resisted The Sims 4. With lots of things I do like change but with the Sims it's been a slow acceptance with each major version. I have start to come around about The Sims 4 (so...Sims 5 can come out now and I will resist that version for awhile). The one thing that I like is the freedom to modify my world and make it more suited to..ME! So I am going to give modding a whirl once more and see what I can come up with.

A renewed love for the Sims 3

Date Posted: 27th Apr 2015 at 9:55 PM

The other night I purchased and installed the Sims 4. It makes me sad to say that it was quite a let down . Even my boyfriend who doesn't play the sims noted the huge difference in design and considered it not as good as the Sims 3. I don't want to go into detail about what I didn't like about it, I have no interested in bashing EA decisions. So it's back to designing for the Sims 3 for me.

Taking the Plunge

Date Posted: 26th Apr 2015 at 3:57 AM

I'm back and downloading TS4 . When I created my Wow T-shirts I was in the process of giving cigarettes the boot. Retexturing TS3 clothing kept my mind so busy that it took the edge off of the cravings. I can't believe that it's been 5 years! In those five years I converted to being a Mac user (once you go mac.... ). Now that TS4 is now available for Mac I have to give it a try. Tonight I am finally taking the plunge. Will I enjoy this as much as I enjoyed TS3? I will soon find out.

I was woefully inactive here at MTS during the TS3 but I intend to be more active now that I can play TS4. I have access to a Windows laptop and I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to fire up gimp and apply my pixel loving' to base textures again. Maybe I will even give meshing a try (I'm just crazy enough to do it!)

Well, I'm off to give TS4 a whirl and in my next post I will share what I thought of it.

Making my way back

Date Posted: 26th Dec 2011 at 5:49 AM

It's been quite awhile since I have tried to design anything for MTS. Initially I stopped designing when a pattern of mine was rejected. My attempts to fix a pattern screenshots were unsuccessful and I gave up the ghost. It was not long after this my laptop with it's horrid graphics card started showing signs that, it too was going to give up the ghost...permanently! So I ran out to my local apple store and purchased a 13" Macbook Pro. I love it!

The challenge of learning the MBP and trying to figure out just what the heck mono was (and all that jazz) was a bit daunting and so I put retexturing away for what I thought was going to be forever. Like many other mac users I was disappointed with the apple update that rendered the TS3 unusable on my MBP but I waited (not so) patiently. What a happy day patch 1.29 was and I discovered that my sims no longer looked like they were pulled out of volcano (or horribly torched by Deathwing). Then the fever returned (not for more cowbell) and I started downloading cc until I felt that only I could design the cc that I had in mind. I learned how to use mono, downloaded Aorta, successfully installed CTU and I am ready to start creating again. So...I'm back and ready to get creative again. Sorry that I was away so long. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, doesn't it?

Back with a fresh and new skill set

Date Posted: 17th Feb 2011 at 5:44 PM

It's been awhile since I have created anything. I had been using Gimp for uploads but in October I was introduced to new graphics and vector editing software and it blew my mind with what it can do (PS CS5 and AI CS5). It was necessary to take some time off from modding to get to know and explore the boundaries of this software.

I am currently working on patterns that combines some of the doodling that I have been known to make while talking on the phone and newly inspired doodling. I'm excited to see what the final result will turn out to be.
