This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life
Default Mismatched household portraits in world screen
Just as the title says, the portraits in the world screen does not match my actual households even in an unplayed save. When I start a new game, the families are already using thumbnails from a different world unrelated to the current one. For context, I have nraas story progression mod installed.

Did you close one world, back to the main menu, and then start another world? I've seen this happen because the game doesn't release all the previous world's data from its memory. You have to exit the game completely, and restart, in order to change worlds or change saves.

Nope. It's like this every time when I open the game fresh and start a new world/save.

It's important to make fresh copies of your saves once in a while. Clean your saves regularly using save cleaner. Check if you have any conflicting mods by using Sims 3 Dashboard tool.
You can try to clean household thumbnail manually with S3PE by deleteing the SNAP resource type (the game will regenerate them after opening the save).

Are you using simler90's Gameplay Core Mod? This mod is known to be in conflict with some Nraas mods, including StoryProgresion eventually.
