Too much of the content is recycled and there isn't a bug enough push to add African content to the game, despite the initiative. There's even items from other packs in the pack. I've seen content from Romantic Garden and Storybook Nursery.

The 3rd blackmail system?
Another fame system?
Another neighborhood rule system?

There are also no real gameplay objects to look forward to. Pirates don't even get reskinned crows as pet Parrots.

A video on TS4 trailer magic. I cannot believe that so many editing techniques are being used to make TS4 more interesting!

I have a feeling like TS4 developers need to make trailer magic because they know that the gameplay is not as exciting. TS2 trailers did have magic in them, but they were also more down to earth.

TS2 doesn't have the same annoying issues that TS4 has, such as sims dropping tasks or simulation lag. TS4 has more UI elements than ever before, while TS2 relies on animations and memories (and sometimes NPCs) to show how sims react and behave.

This is one of the main reasons why so many people are angry or just dissapointed about TS4. We were promised so many good things, but what we got was not worth so much money.

I mean, this was always a thing, regardless of which game. Trailers in TS2 and TS3 were also scripted and machinima-like, as most actions would have to be renacted by played Sim and out of place animation weren’t relevant in the context shown in videos. (Like how shoppers don’t woohoo in an elevator one comes to mind)

Problem lies how laggy, slow, glitchy, and wait times are prevelant in (the sims) four. Like the throwing bontique thing I didn’t imagine it was that bad (while I can fanthom it be pretty hard to code in crowd-animation trying to catch, but not have two Sims play catch with the flower??).

So really, the problem is not with the trailer - cause they need to sell you the pack or show what it *should* (when the mechanics suppose to work without error or hiccups) offer anyway - but whats really happening behind the scenes of the pack when played.

ETA: The way she says “they probably don’t open or play the game” reminds the trailers were devs gave a walkthrough and commentary of their households they played and showcased actual gameplay recorded footagw. Remember when Open for Business gave us a glimse of a toy store, or how a random developer of TS3 Expansion Pack gave their peak of the household they were playing to get us be introduced with the new features? Oh how I miss those days…

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Honestly, I don't know. TS2 trailers always stood out to me as more realistic (H&M trailer as an example).

There is definitely a behind the scenes problem with TS4, but I don't even know if the problems that the game has are fixable. I don't understand their thought process, but it is clear that they are trying to hide how broken the game really is by making deceptive trailers.

Can we all agree that Get Famous trailer was the worst (minus My Wedding Stories)? It is so misleading that you can see it over and over in the comments! I don't have the pack so I don't know how it is to experience simulation lag or sims dropping tasks while you play the acting career.

I do know how annoying celebrities are because I heard that they appear everywhere where they realistically shouldn't. It is very immersion breaking to see top celebrities in Strangerville or in Forgotten Hollow.

There will be a new update for TS4 that affects family trees and relationships (February 3rd)! Backup your saves and wait until mods are updated because this is a big update!

The issue with 4 is what it has always been: A lack of vision. After they retrofitted it from being an MMO, they were left with crumbs they scrapped together. They're merely riding the carriage until the wheels fall off. 1, 2, and 3 had clear vision and intent, and used the platform given to the develops to extract contact from them.

1 was an experiment from Will Wright about Architecture, which transformed into a commentary about consumerism, and then a simulation of life. It was wildly successful.

2 was a focused on generational living and social interconnectedness while carrying forth 1's ethos. This bleeds into every aspect of the game and many of the packs. The social systems, interpersonal dynamics, and genetics are still the best in the series, and the expansion packs deepen these dynamics tenfold. Down to the last expansion pack, 2 focused on social dynamics and how Sims relate to one another. For example, Freetime add a lot of content across multiple age groups to broaden how Sims connect with each other via their hobbies and interests, given Sims both personal and interpersonal depth.

3 was a focus on open world dynamics and communal engagement, while translating much of the past into an open world dynamic. While some concessions were made to accommodate for an open world, many traditional gameplay mechanics were changed to take advantage of the open world, such as active careers. Like 2, the Open World was still a point of focus across most expansion packs. For example, Ambitions allows players to active change the world and the Sims with their careers actively.

What is 4, if not a content machine?

That’s because The Sims 2 has attention to detail and realistic animations that makes the good to spectate from viewing standpoint. Thd Sims 4 doesn’t probably have Sims grabbing clothing from the hanger or hitting the till’s button. The trailers aren’t the problem (with the exception of blatant Get Famous CGI); the game behind them - is. If it were a good game, than players wouldn’t mind the product-selling advertisement as the youtuber in video put it.

Apparently, Secret Passages work like elevators and can route around the lot as needed. We don’t have elevators, though.

Edit: I Also noticed a sectional sofa, but it's pretty African inspired. I wish we got a humdrum, basic, modern sectional to use in most homes.

I feel like Royalty and Legacy would have worked as The Sims Stories series (like we have Life, Pets and Castaways) rather than expansion pack. Like imagine skimming through the EP’s trailers, skipping or imagine the clips not featuring UI/GUI or whatever the shown tabs of traits/meters/pie interactions are called, and all you get is Sim doing most of the same BG animation and sword fights. Its a reskin club system which they label it the sole thing that makes that expansion operate/function.

Honestly, while I’m glad this (PRESUMABLY) is the last expansion pack, I feel a bit bad for the players that still through it all the history and get a underwhelming pack that hardly has gameplay.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Royalty and Legacy can work. However, it’s leaning very whimsical despite being modern (which is still fine I guess). The biggest issue of all will probably be the lack of content long term.

Modern Nobility isn’t about sword fighting. It’s equal parts governance and family, steep in luxury. Outside of having an expensive home, what can soak engage with that screams Oppulance? When I tax everyone to the max and rake in needless amount of money, what do I do with the money?

What are the new services, like a jester of minstrel? Where are the overprice art pieces? There’s no harp? There are no new rich people hobbies, like polo, golf, badminton? There’s no investing? Is there any gambling in backrooms to lose the family fortune because we already have clubs.

It’s possible. In the realm of “The Sims Never”. Or also known as “The Sims 4 Could Never…”. We can hope and ask Paralives to implement or even InZoi company, as they are at least looking into feedback or continues improving their game.

They’re advertising this pack heavily. But there isn’t much to shower. A lot of sword fighting is being shown off, but what else?

This pack is aggressively UI. This is probably the worst offender of the UI packs because at least Growing Together and Lovestruck had stuff to do.

They also keep avoiding the market lot. Is it base game? What happens? Is the base game finally getting a way to buy merchandise (groceries and otherwise) on a community lot? They showed off the backroom lot but the pack doesn’t even have a dance floor in it lol

Sims are dancing to base game stereos?

Edit: I figured it out from looking at the photo. It’s a bunch of sales table. Can we not get a basic self serve shopping center for immersion? There are already animations and items to facilitate this. Why can’t we have grocery shopping or buy gifts from a kiosk?

It could have flown off as The Sims 4 Swords Fights Stuff pack. Much like Bowling Night, add the skill in the game and it’s good to go!

This video shows you one of the ways on how to stop the EA buyout!

The buyout was already approved by the CEOs (if I am correct), so we need to stop this somehow from becoming the future of TS. It is immoral to fund misogyny, transphobia, homophobia and racism.
