(Yay, I was the 1000th person to thank you. :P)

Hah, this is a good idea. Yay for extra realism! :D

Oh, how perfectly dreadful! And still, a few of my families have been waiting for a bathtub that isn't so luxurious it's out of their price range, and I'm sure they'll be delighted... Thanks for this. ^___^

Lovely! I use plenty of grungy items in my game and this will fit in nicely.

Thank you. I love how realistic it is, cheap, but you also get less so it isn't just a different view for an old item. ^_^

If this had just been a cheap bathtub that looks different then the maxis one I wouldn't buy it, but I believe it's a bit more then that.

You did a great job.

Whee! Love it! Bath tubs that fit in with medieval surroundings (the looks, I mean, not the not getting entirely clean) are still rare, and this one is lovely. The modifications are fun, too: I'm not usually a fan of the "dirty dark ages" theory, but I've got to agree with you that really good soap was a lot more difficult ot get at than it is these days. (And btw, that Sim of yours on the picture is very pretty.)

Many thanks!

In case anyone's curious, it's one of the JLB_PYD skintones (using Warlokk XHi meshes) available at the requires-registration-because-of-adult-content site http://www.insimadult.net/, although I don't recall which one. (They're all at http://www.insimadult.net/showthread.php?t=30836 .)

This tub is almost what I was looking for. I just need to make a slight tweak to suit my needs better. I am familiar with SimPE, so if you could tell me where to make the change, I would appreciate it.

You have a cap set on the tub so that the Sims get out of it before they are 100% clean. I would like to lower that cap so that Sims get out of the tub a little sooner than they do now.

I am playing the Apocalypse Challenge (http://www.legacychallenge.com/apocalypse.html). In that challenge, it is assumed that very little clean water is available, so bathing isn't allowed, but sponge bathing at a sink is. The problem with this is that toddlers and children cannot sponge bathe, leaving them without any way to increase their hygiene even a little. If I could lower the cap on this tub to match the amount of hygiene a Sim would normally get from sponge bathing, then this tub could be used for the challenge.

By the way, the dirty outhouse that you gave us is perfect for this challenge!

I've got half an answer:

The easy part is making sure that the tub won't increase a Sim's hygiene above the level sponge bathing will. To do that, in the BCON resources (the "Behavior constant"s), specifically in the ones named
Tuning - Motives - Bath
Tuning - Motives - Toddler Bathe
Tuning - Motives - Bubble Bath

Change all the occurrences of 0x0053 to 0x0019. (This is changing the hygiene stopping point from 83 (decimal) to 25 (decimal).)

Trouble is, any Sims operating on Free Will are going to be seeing the tub advertising it can get them clean... and so will be likely to go to the tub, fill it, get in, and immediately get out again. And then probably try again, and again, and again... Dealing with this will require fooling around with the "Motives" data in the TTAB resource-- but I fear I don't know what, exactly, will have to be done to it. For the purposes of playing the challenge, I think something worth trying would be to set the "Water / Hygiene" motive to zero across the board, and just remember to send Sims to take a bath only when appropriate-- but I have not tested this.

Thanks so much for taking the time to give me this info.

I know what you mean about them turning around and getting back in the tub. That happens now if you use this tub in a house with a 10 Neat Sim. You are right, if I change it, it will make it worse.

I removed the comfort motives so they don't try to use it when they're uncomfortable but not dirty, and I made the bubble bath non-autonomous because it would be inappropriate for the challenge. I could make the whole tub non-autonomous, but that isn't what I was hoping for either. Right now it looks like my only option though.

You gave me a lot to think about. I'll let you know if I come up with a better solution.

Thanks again.

I thought I would let you know the results of my experiment.

I lowered the hygiene to sponge-bath levels and removed the comfort advertising from 'take bath'. I left 'bathe toddler' alone except for lowering the hygiene level and made the bubble bath non-autonomous.

Even though I was sure that they would become obsessed with jumping right back into the tub over and over again, I tried it in game to see how bad it was. I was quite surprised. They didn't jump back into the tub any more now than they had been (I think removing the comfort advertising helped). The few times that it did happen, I just sent the Sim to another room where they would quickly find something else that interested them.

Thank you for helping me make your wonderful tub work for my scenario.

Squee! I love using the "Black and White 'Bare' Bath" for medieval sims, but I hated the panda on the end. Thanks for this.
