I haven't tested this yet, but thank you for making this mod! This is one of those mods that you don't think you needed until you see it, and I always thought that giving children a new name upon adoption in Sims 3 was quite silly, so them having a randomly generated name you can't choose makes it more realistic.

very cool, thank you very much! i don't like children, especially babies, so i always use the time machine, now my sims can use their time more sensibly than being stuck at the workbench

In the real world, while uncommon, teens are able to be adopted. Therefore, this mod seems to add realism to the game, so thanks for that.

Thank you this mod and for making these values tunable. Just out of curiosity, when naming is enabled, does the player have visibility of the child's original name before or at the point they're prompted to choose one?

No. The game normally creates the adopted Sim after you give him/her a name, so he/she doesn't have a name initially. The same persists with this mod. But perhaps I should have assigned an initial name.

Thank you all for feedback!

This is brilliant! No more do I need to "steal" other families teens for my 'caretaker of wayward children' sim! <3

It was so nice to adopt a teen in my latest game. For emotional reasons, I like the idea of adopting teens, but also for gameplay reasons, as I tend to micromanage most of my game- even though I'm trying to get away from that. So, throwing a random teenager into the mix was a lovely way for my single sim to become a parent and for me to allow some randomness into my game. Is there any way to add a third option when it comes to male/ female- so that you can choose 'random' and so you get whichever sex the game 'rolls' for you? If not, no worries. Thanks for such a nice mod.

Nice! I used to adopt a child and then age them up with NRass but thanks to you adopting a teen will be more natural.

Omg, finally! So tired of having to adopt child-aged sims and then age them up immediately to fit with the story I have in my head for households who would adopt teenaged Sims. You're the best for this! 😄

The mod only overrides the adoption dialog. So the social worker not arriving might be something else.

Does adoption work when you take this mod out?

Sorry, I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem.
When I called to adopt a child, it was the toddler that showed up.
But there is no problem in leading teenagers.

Hi, I really want this to work, but I'm having issues. Where am I supposed to install this? I've tried running it in both Packages and Overrides and it's not working for me? Does it conflict with other mods that you know of?

Installation is just as usual. The mod is based on "interaction replacement", for which I wrote a notifier if the same interaction is replaced by something else. So, if you didn't get a warning about this (and if my code is working), I'm assuming the mod didn't load at all? Could you check if the mod is listed in the mod scripts pop-up (a.k.a. "Mod Scripts Found") at the beginning of the game?

It isn't, but most of the mods I have installed don't come up in that prompt but still work. I have over 3k things in my mods folder between CC, overrides and mods.
