This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Simblr or Tumblr for setting up Sims 2 page? Or other?
Title says it all. Tumblr seems a bit nosier. Thanks, GS

What's the difference between "Simblr" and "Tumblr" here? "Simblr" is generally just a word for "Sims-focused tumblr".

Simblr is a subset of Tumblr, perhaps I'm simply seeing "less stuff" being applied to those web pages? Are there other alternatives for Sims 2 web pages?

Thanks. GS

A Simblr is just a Sim-focused Tumblr page, there isn't anything else different.

There's this site -https://simblr.cc/ - (which just borrowed the name, it doesn't have anything to do with Tumblr as far as I know, other than some of the creators probably also having sims-focused Tumblr accounts).

Tumblr is a network of people following other people, simblr is a part of that network that is mostly people posting Sims content following other people who post Sims content. Other than tumblr, I think people still use journal sites. Unless you didn't mean social media and just want to make your own Wordpress site, or something?

I was just thinking about the ease of people finding & getting Sims 2 stuff. I'm really not much into the social aspect, but that could change.
Personally, I would prefer a minimalist webpage. Here, like it? Take it, go...;-)
Thanks for everyone's input! GS

Yes please! I can never find things very well on Tumblr (it works very badly for those who don't have an account there).

I will choose a path that's clear- I will choose free will

I have an account there and I still can't find anything. There's no way to search for specifics and people don't tag their stuff well.

I'm glad it's not just me, I'm really out of touch with social media as I avoid it like the plague, so always feel like a bit of a boomer with Tumblr!

Excuse the long delay, I've been sorting some personal matters out. Okay, I'll look into posting on MTS, but I've read that there are some issues with posting. I do agree Tumblr & Simblr are a mess. The Simblr issue could be minimized by proper tagging. I'm thinking a personal web page might be the better way to go. Thanks everyone!

I like your thinking, and with the way things disappear on the Net.....;-)

People will probably think I'm fearmongering but genuinely, I'll be surprised if tumblr still exists in a few years, Matt Mullenweg aka the CEO of Automattic & Wordpress and current owner of Tumblr has been... well for the lack of better wording, acting rather erratic this year (I could elaborate further on that but it's off the topic for this thread). Most important reason though is that Tumblr isn't profitable, it's losing $30 million every year and there are talks of them planning to move the whole mess into WordPress backend, they even stated themselves "We’re talking about one of the largest technical migrations in internet history. Some people think it’s impossible. But we say, 'challenge accepted'" and that just doesn't sound like a good idea to me honestly.

Just my two cents on why I wouldn't choose tumblr of all the places for posting my content at this point even if it still has the most active community for the time being. Where people will go after that I don't know but my wild guess is that it's very likely going to be Discord communities since most people already are there.

I prefer Simblr.cc by miles because it only hosts SIMS-RELATED content.

This is going to depend on personal preference. Tumblr is just a blogging platform where you can interact with other people. You can use it show off images of your game or CC, but it won't host CC files. For that, you'll want something like SFS, dropbox, etc. What many creators do is post on tumblr to announce their new CC and then link to those files. I've also seen people upload things to MTS and then link to the download page.

"Simblr" is just the Sims community on tumblr, though there's simblr.cc where you can upload things you've created or post stories.

You could also make a non-blog site, or go with other blogging options depending on the format/community you want. Do you have examples of what you'd like to do?
