Thank You for this thread ... it's the only place I've found that others are having the same issues as me, and I'm not alone .... also, up to date responses by others who are trying to find work arounds for the issues

Lists of graphics gards / chipsets

This lists all of the cards the game will recognise, including unsupported ones, and what the graphics settings will default to for each one. From /Program Files/Origin Games/The Sims 4/Game/Bin/GraphicsCards.sgr, game version 1.0.797.20:
