If I turn off the sound, it seems that overloaded menus come up almost instantly. But with sound on there is a pause. The length of the pause doesn't really change.

I've been creating the city of SimCity within Cities Skylines 2, and it got me thinking, how exactly did SimCity become the cultural epicenter for our Sims' lives? You hear a lot about SimCity within TS1 and 2, but yet it still has an allure... a mystic aura. Not much seems to be known about this place even to our very own Sims.

SIm City 2000 and on will enlighten you as to how and why this became our north star!

I've played SC2, 3, and 4 but oddly enough I don't ever recall there actually being a premade city in those games called "SimCity". So, playing those don't really give full proper insight into why or how the city of SimCity itself became what it is.

All I can really gather from research is that the city of SimCity seems heavily based on San Francisco, as evident by Golden Gate bridge being depicted on SC2k's artwork and on a painting in TS2. It also seems to take some influences from Manhattan as evident by SC4 renders and the SC3k artwork.

I might be mistaken but if I recall correctly "Sim City" is a neighbor to your city in Sim City 2000. If you face a disaster but doesn't have the means to fight it, Sim City sends troops to help you out. I think Sim City is also mentioned in the newspaper?

For some reason, I couldn't get any of my sims to change any of their clothes, which is something that I had never experienced. Last time I played, I was able to change my sims' clothes without any issues, as it should be, so I thought about whether I had done anything differently between the two game sessions, and the only thing I did was install these old scrubs for my sims: https://modthesims.info/d/170992/more-scrubs.html

I removed them from the game, and it fixed my problem. It's weird to me how some simple piece of custom content can suddenly break the game in weird ways. It reminded me of a party mod I downloaded that made my sims reset every time I hovered over the phone, of that shirt that makes dogs look like weird aliens

Huh, that's weird. I never had any issues with those outfits (and I used them quite a bit back in the days, since medical stuff was pretty scarce). They're just plain recolors of a couple (un)hidden EAxis outfits, so there's no reason why they should be causing issues.

But the game can act in strange ways.

Some mods can interact with dressers - an older and not 100% compatible version of the PregWearAll mod combined with inteen can block everyday for adults for dressers (I've gotten rid of Inteen since, and have a different version of the other mod - but at the time I just learned to live with the issue, and used the Wardrobe Adjuster from Insim instead, because it is faster and has instant dressing-up, which is really useful for posing. Habits die hard, so dressers in my game are still mostly for decoration )
