Well, it's fine if people change their minds. I won't since I don't want to install Origin on my machine. It's just a line I won't cross. Since that's not going away, TS4 won't happen for me until it's sold in the bargain bin of history in 10 years. Maybe it will show up on GOG.com or maybe not because somehow, it doesn't feel like it's gonna become a classic.

Also, even 40 bucks is way too much money for what I've seen. I don't doubt I might have some fun (it's a game after all, it's sole function is to entertain) but I have enough to do to play the games I actually love.
So, I won't feel bad for not wanting it and no one really should feel bad about liking it. I hope we won't have another round of TS3 is so much better than TS4. It was rather irritating at times when people just couldn't shut up about how TS2 is sooo much better. Different games, different likes, different preferences.

It's too bad, for the first time of the Sims iterations, I'm in a position to be able to pay full price and not worry about my gaming budget for any following DLC's and EP's but there you have it. EA needs to take their greed and DLC's and what not elsewhere. No more from me.

I just, every time I try to say so on any of the other boards out of this site people are freaking MEAN about the fact that I don't hate the game! I adore the fact that I don't have 2 second stutters all the time when I'm running at fast speed because of invisible school busses and taxi's being stuck against a cliff or in a hole somewhere Is it as content heavy as Sims 3 was after however many years? Nope, but I firmly believe it will be even more so by the time it hits that many years. I'm ok with waiting. I just really wish that those who don't like it, wouldn't hate those of us who do as much as they hate the game Does anyone else here like it? Tell me I'm not the lone sims fan who still likes the game?

I'm glad there are folks out there who love this game. I'm going to get my copy on Friday (I want a hard copy disk, just in case origin nerfs it years down the road as has happened with my sims 2 at least I can still play all the ep I had before the support bottomed out) But other than that, I'm actually looking forward to tethered babies and no more toddlers. True one of the biggest things I didn't like about the little ankle nippers in 2&3 was there were far too little interactions and the brats couldn't stay asleep for 8 hours. (Babies... maybe I could see but a toddler is asking for a %&$#$%*$$@# if they think they're going to be waking me up in the middle of the night... every fracking night!!) I do sort of wish they had the terraforming, but at the same time it could get annoying in both games when the 'sims' idea of physics didn't match with real physics restricting what all you could do. Take all that away and no more wonky yards and buildings from the numerous cheats used to make them 'just so...' only to move them somewhere else and warp them... I can live with that.

I expect that I will dearly miss CAST, but that's another one that while it was a great feature, was often tedious and depending on what you were casting it required a degree in color theory to get items to match appropriately. Really my largest fear, that has been almost completely dissipated, was concerning CC. The Sims 3 was a nightmare for CC, and still hasn't a tenth of player created content as Sims 2 or Sims 1 for that matter. But here we are a mere day after the game's release and people have already figured out how to convert hair meshes between the genders. Beautifully done retextures are popping up all over the net and it's been less than 48 hours.

I'm getting truly anxious to get my copy, and almost tempted to run out tomorrow and grab it. Download modding tools and start playing with meshes and recolors. And as far as teens being the same height as the adults... my nephew is towering over me, and I'm not a short person at 5'7.5" but you'd think he was standing beside a midget clown at a freak show when we're together and he's a teenager. Obviously the teens got their milk in their youth, must be from the breastfeeding .

Thanks for the tip!

And my situation about this is getting sadder and sadder. It now feels that I have to obligate myself to hate the game because EA is a such an evil company (although there are companies that have done worse because they actually took away people's houses, well-beings, and in some cases, even their lives; while EA hasn't stooped to those lows yet.) that it makes me feel bad inside that I have to hate the product to not "drink the Kool-aid" and not becoming a hypocrite as I mentioned before. And I don't want to fall into and become those EAvangelists we see on the official forums, and sometimes even here.

Does anyone else who hasn't purchased the game yet feel the same way about this?

You're surprised?

The same thing happened for the Sims 3. Loads of people complained about how rubbish it looked, how different it was from Sims 2, how they weren't going to buy it ever even if they were paid to play it... all the nastiness directed at this game and people who did want to play it happened back then, too. But of course, it soon calmed down and the same people who lambasted it now bought it and all the EPs. People just get caught up in the hate and don't want to have the unpopular opinion. And now of course on MTS there is the voting panel on each post. People want to be funny and be recognised for it. Then quietly buy it...

I'm supporting the Optimist Camp for the Sims 4.

I'd love to know where these are turning up because I haven't seen much on MTS yet!

The sticky on these forums... Custom Content... granted it says it's for the demo version however, reading through it sounds like people are loading it into their games since there's a debate on previewing between the time to load the game, load the demo, or just bring up a preview in Photoshop (forget which version), but also on these boards somewhere, someone had shown a hair conversion. True there isn't much showing up as downloadable from MTS right now but links are out to many other sites and more and more are advertising under that forum, showing off what they have so far.
