I don’t think implementing open spaces to visit between lots (Open Wolfd) will keep players interest and save the player count as over the years it will continue to dwindle.

As far as how long people will continue to play TS4, that is really a individual thing. Many claimed they were done once the sale of EA went through. I don't know if there is any 'truth' to that or not as I haven't been paying attention to the sims community as a whole generally speaking.

Once upon a time I could sit and play my game for hours at a time. Over the past couple of years I can't do that anymore. I play for about a hour then I'm done until next time. Many people use video games as a form escapism, that doesn't work for me. Physically doing something makes be feel better in those times rather than sitting still. I digress.

I don't think TS4 is going anywhere, but I do think it will be on a even lower rung on the priority ladder now that PIF is a majority owner. PIF loves their gambling games such as Monopoly Go and sports betting for video games is just as problematic as somebody physically sitting at a casino. PIF loves their whales just as much as EA does, so that is where the priority is going to be. They do it and get away with it because people continue to throw money at them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ A talking that seems to keep rearing its head. That isn't going to change either...

I just... need to rant. Dealing with custom Sims are a pain. Sure it's nice when they include the CC with the download. What's not so nice is when said CC have merged packages... which has old and/or outdated packages. I'm trying my best to clear out conflicts. Sliders are bad enough because I don't know what conflicts, and if they do conflict and I DO remove them, would that break said Sim? I don't even know the purpose of merging packages from different creators and with different uses into one package... I guess they're trying to save space but if you upload your Sim somewhere then maybe try not to cause more hassle for users?

Well that's interesting. My Mod Manager can disable mods and even unmerge merged packages. That's very handy. I'm so glad I got it. Way, way better than CurseForge.

Sure, there are mods but updates will just keep turning them off. I’d be surprised if the game stays relevant in the years of 2040.

I agree. But I feel like with the sims 4 it’s easier to get bored of it. Idk maybe it has to do with my play style. I’ve come to uninstalling it again. Then again I’m playing a current family in the sims 3 that has my attention.

I just feel like you get more bang for your buck with the sims 2 and 3. I was watching a video from LGR he did a little over a year ago. And he mentioned how now the sims 4 has more expansion packs than the sims and sims 2 combined and it’s like people still get bored. Perfect example of quality over quantity if you ask me.

But I digress to each their own. I feel like I’ll be a simmer for the rest of my days but I’m just fed up with how long TS4 has been going and the constant disappointment in it.

Tbh ot feels like I've spent more time troubleshooting CC lately than actually playing. In Sims 3 I had to reinstall all store content which is a pain, while in the Sims 4 I've been trying to fix conflicting CC and sliders. Which isn't helped by the merged packages that can't be unmerged. While it's playable, there are still issues with sliders conflicting and I'm not sure how to fix it. Other than removing all sliders I suppose. But that would break Sims using them, sighs.

As far as store content for the sims 3 I can share a link to a really nice modder that dropped all of it for free for the 25th anniversary of the sims if you’re interested.

I always have a super appreciation for our fellow simmers and the previous iterations. Without them idk how I’d be running TS2 and TS3. The link: https://www.tumblr.com/nausallien/7...ed?source=share
