Help!!!!! I made a map and NOTHING I am doing is changing it to the 16 bit which I need to use, correct? I used Raw Therapee in the past and it worked perfectly well to save the file immediately and it left it as the 16 bit. Now no matter what I do, save immediately, put in queue, whatever, it is not changing to the 16 bit.

I watched and have read some notes and tutorials and zero is working as it should. Paint.net, Irfanview, and GIMP are not helping at all.

What in the heck am I doing wrong or not doing that I should be doing?

I need Raw Therapee for dummies help please.

I've never used Raw Therapee, but you need to make sure it's in greyscale with no alpha. Then export as 16 bit PNG. On some programs there's a bit depth selection in the menu, set it to 16 bits per channel.

Thank you. I will have to play with this some more as determined to do but is so frustrating that would work easily in past will not work at all now.
