Default Use of self-made 16-bit heightmap causes world to squish.
I made a 16-bit, 2048x2048px greyscale heightmap in Gimp for use in Create A World.

Once loaded up in CAW, the world had been squished to take up only half of the total world space. This has happened before with other heightmaps of varying sizes, but each time had a different result on the terrain on the other half, such as being as high as possible, low as possible, and spikey, or just being an exact clone of the other half. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Please help!

This image shows the result of importing that same heightmap. (With fog and water)

Looks like you have the wrong bit depth; the heightmaps need to be 16bit greyscale.

I will choose a path that's clear- I will choose free will

Also, did you flatten the .pngs before saving? I don't remember which it was, but it's either to flatten them or not to, so whatever you did, try the other option.

Thank you both. I have been having trouble with this for too long. And you solved it very quickly. :D

Glad you solved it! May I ask why you disagreed with my post? If you didn't flatten the PNG then it would not have saved as 16bit.

Oh I didn't realize that was what you meant. I had thought I already did. Sorry about that.
