Default I genuinely thought that I'd have to be limited being a legacy player..
I'm beyond grateful for this list, I come on here from time to time to look at sims 4 cc but recently decided to try out sims 2. Unfortunately I was a little too late to the "Is sims 2 legacy worth it?" videos and saw the downsides after purchasing the game. I'm happy that some creators had altered their mods to work in the legacy version, since I saw TeaAddict's video and how some were incompatible and stopped the overall function of the game. THANK UUUU!! :P

I don't know if anyone else had an issue with Legacy Collection and CAS not showing anything after clicking "Add Sim", but I found that removing the file "maxis_match_widescreen_cas_fix_1920_1080.package" in my Downloads folder solved it for me.

Just letting you guys know, the business uniform fix was made by chris hatch and the original link is here: https://modthesims.info/showthread....306#post5415306

also found original links to all the other direct download mods (excluding commtime bc its on an adult website and required a login so wayback machine is useless)

sim blender: https://www.tumblr.com/gummilutt/75...for-teleporters
apartment nanny controller fix: https://web.archive.org/web/2023100...ler-global-fix/ (you will have to copy and paste the simfileshare link out of the wayback machines redirect page)

Default Legacy Edition - The Sims 2 Legacy Collection - Essential Mods Masterlist
I have the Sims 2 UC and tried to apply the first born fix patch.

I'm not sure what I have done wrong, but my game just crashes before it loads.

Is there a way i can unpatch or delete the patch and if so, where can I find it to do so?

ETA: I did a complete uninstall and re-install of the game but still have the same issue.

ETA 2: I have had to uninstall and reinstall Graphics Rule Maker, 4gb patch etc and now the game is loading. Fingers crossed it will stay that way.

Your link didn't work for me. Luckily, I'm no stranger to the Sims 2 and also think this is an essential mod, so i went searching for it and I found it

Get Parents Fix file can be found at https://modthesims.info/showthread....294#post5933294 in comment #2. Even though it isn't necessary, I still suggest replacing the link so the fix can be more easily downloaded because I find the Wayback Machine is too slow and clunky.

I had trouble accessing the Wayback Machine from Archive.org for Enthusiasm Overhaul, so here's an alternative link https://www.reddit.com/r/sims2/comm...m_overhaul_mod/. Not to mention the link has some significantly important additional information in the readme file.

I recently noticed an immersion-breaking animation where a Sim shields their eyes from the sun while walking with a stiff, unanimated trash bag! The link for Lamare's mod includes a picture illustrating this problem.

I found two mods to address this issue:
Note: I haven't tested these, yet. While I'm more familiar with TwoJeffs' work, I plan to try Lamare's mod first because it aims to fix the specific conflict rather than removing the animation entirely.

Found an auto save or autosave mod: Auto Save Game by Aaroneous. I also found 2 door lock or room lock mods: Authorized Personnel Only Security System v5.0 by Pescado and Complete Security DOOR system by Inger. I have yet to try the latter but the first one is ok. I think I'll try it tomorrow. For your information, the Simlogical page shows multiple locking and related mods.

Lamare's mod works well. I don't plan on trying TwoJeff's but I'm sure it works as intended.

Hi @JayJay55555
It's just so that a thread doesn't just become a series of one person's posts. Better to edit your last post if you have something to add, if no-one else has posted.

Oh, ok. Thank you @simsample! Seems to be quite an obscure, unusual rule.

Edit: I'll make the changes right now.

Edit: Nevermind. It looks like someone else already did it.

Yes indeed, that was HugeLunatic who is a site administrator, they merged your posts into one and reminded you of the rule. It's best to read all of the site rules, as well as the rules and sticky notes on each section you post in.
You can see who the site staff members are here:

Baby's first hours with the legacy collection but this rocks TYSM!!!
The one thing that made me not want to play my favorite game ever is to traverse the swamp of game fixes and just installed it feels so much better. I want to start playing again, this game holds so many good memories and i want to make even more new ones

Hello ! Installed the "TS2 Extender" and it seems to be working, except the cheat command which is supposed to tell you the current TS2 Extender Version ? Does anyone knows why ?

As a long time simmer since TS1 who is thinking about playing my TS2 game again, I came back to my 22 year old account here since I love this site.

My game is as ancient as my account here. I have all the store-bought shrink wrapped games & never have any intention of ever buying this or any other game that requires an internet connection or further intrusion at all.

Yet I am seeing jargon thrown around as if it is common knowledge, yet my search results do not clear things up at all, so I'll do the actual best thing, after 2 days of searching, and ask an actual person these questions:::

What the frig is "Legacy Collection" - "rpc" - "origin" ?

I do know what steam is, which is why I have nothing to do with it.
I am suspecting that perhaps EA re-released this ancient game, but has new names for it, or suspicious coding such as "loaders" and "game launchers" etc???

I am seeing some new downloads for this ancient game, or simply re-tooled updated downloads for older well-established mods that after a quarter century, I already have.

Before I go on a brand new TS2 downloading spree, I don't want to grab something coded for a craptacular 2026 reissue of a game that I already spent thousands of dollars on.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can say what this jargon actually means since I am clearly out of the loop after not having played in about 5 years.

Color me clueless.

CONTROL ALT DELETE.
Rest In Peace Mootilda.

@freoninferno Hello, I remember you! Welcome back!

Sims 2 has never fallen out of favour, and new discoveries and mods are being created constantly, so it's definitely worth downloading new stuff.

Legacy: This is referring to The Sims 2 Legacy Collection, which is a remastered version of the Sims 2 game with all expansions and stuff packs (except for Ikea). It was released last year as a celebration of 25 years of The Sims, and they also released a Legacy version of The Sims 1 (still alive and well, and also with new mods available!). You can buy them seperately (digital downloads only, no disks now booooo! ) or together in a bundle:
https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/t...birthday-bundle
You can get these Legacy games through the EA App or through Steam. They are a slightly different game engine version to the Disk versions of Sims 2, or the Ultimate Collection (UC- a previously offered complete digital download for existing Sims 2 players), so some of the things we have to do to make the game run on modern hardware is not necessary, and some mods for the Disk/ UC versions might not work. Hence this thread!
As with any EA update/ patch- there are bugs in the legacy versions! And I (and many others) still play on the Disks.
This may help with solving some problems we are seeing with modern hardware and OS if you want to play on disk:
https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=694024

Origin: This is the old name for the EA App, the Digital Download manager for EA Games.

RPC: Referring to the Discord Rich Presence Client. Discord is a messenger thingy and I'm far too old for things like that so avoid it like the plague, but when you're chatting to someone, you can see what game they are currently playing in their profile. The Sims 2 RPC Launcher is a custom launcher made by a modder called LazyDuchess, and is available on this site or through their Tumblr here:
https://lazyduchess.tumblr.com/post...-mansion-garden
I use it (although I have the discord bit turned off), as it fixes some game bugs, makes the randomiser truly random (so avoiding the Firstborn Effect ) and fixes a shadow bug that occurs with modern hardware. I like it as I can run the game in borderless windowed mode with it (great for if you are using multiple desktops). There is also a non-RPC version:
https://lazyduchess.tumblr.com/post...-non-rpc-sims-2

There is so much else to tell you about the mods and discoveries in this game- I'm sure if you create a new thread in the discussion forums, many people will help you to find them. There is already a thread for people to share cool downloads they've found, but it's rather long now. So you might find it easier to ask people.
