Default Weird Texture Everywhere in my Save
Hello, I am not sure if this is the place for this so excuse me if it is not. I am trying to figure out what in the world this texture is thats plaguing my world. Ive tried removing CC, reinstalling CC, playing completely without CC, new saves, different words, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, nothing seems to change. It was not always like this either just started happening recently. Every photo except the last one (The one with the windows looking into a empty room) is completely CC free and in sunset valley, again ive tried tons of different worlds. Ive also deleted my sims 3 folder and started fresh and have my graphics card matched and found. No fix. Any help would be appreciated!

Specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
GFX Card: GeForce RTX 2070
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

What's the source of your install? Disk, Steam, EA? That's REALLY weird that deleting the folder and letting it create a new one didn't fix it. I would have bet money on a bad CC issue.

D'oh, I didn't read the first post very well!

This person had the same issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims3/comm...ure_on_objects/

I can't believe reinstall is necessary though, there must be an overwritten gamedata file somewhere.

Really wierd, since it must be the same bad mod. The image in OP's pics are the same as reddit pics. I wonder if this was installed thru the launcher, and then copies to DCCache?

loliuzivert says they deleted the userdata folder and had the same issue, so the DCCache would be gone. Also the reddit post indicates that a reinstall was necessary, which seems very odd to me!

Hey there! Thanks for the response, so reinstalling without the CC was a win. I loaded up base game and seasons and had that texture was nowhere to be seen. I spent hours one by one adding all my cc back in to see which was the culprit. I add everything back in and the texture glitch isnt showing up! Im thinking oh okay well I guess that was a one time thing. I close TS3, load back up today and boom its there. AGAIN. Im beyond frustrated lol. Not even sure how to test which CC is causing this now. Do I add batches, close the game and restart my PC every time? I think my PC is going to explode by the end of this At least I know now its for sure the CC.

I refuse to install CC through the launcher. Lags my game way too much, I exclusively install CC through CC Magic, and then I install script mods directly into the mods folder.

Just to confirm, when you remove all the CC and say that the texture is still there, do you mean that it is still there in the same savegame? What about if you begin a new savegame, in a new world?

And when you say you reinstalled, you mean that you actually uninstalled the whole game and reinstalled it from the discs (or EA App or steam or whatever)?

And, when you test without CC, are you removing the DCCache folder as well as the mods folder?

I've never used CCMagic, where does that install your CC to?

So when I was testing each CC file the other night, AFTER a fresh install of the game, so I uninstalled then reinstalled. So yes I uninstalled the entire game expansions stuff packs and all. When I reinstalled, the texture was not there so its for sure a CC item. However, whenever I added each CC file in, trying to see the texture glitch come out so I could narrow down the culprit, I got to the end of my CC files and there was no texture glitch. All of my CC was back enabled and the texture glitch was not present. I even closed out of the game and relaunched one more time before going to sleep to see if it would come out. I played for about 30 minutes before going to sleep. When I woke up the next day in the afternoon I loaded up the game and the texture glitch was present again! It didn't seem to make itself present after I had closed out of the game and turned off my PC.

Just to confirm, when you remove all the CC and say that the texture is still there, do you mean that it is still there in the same savegame? What about if you begin a new savegame, in a new world?

Yes, even after removing all the CC the texture is present in the save game, and in a fresh save in a new world. The only thing that seems to get rid of it is a complete uninstall and reinstall without adding my CC.

And, when you test without CC, are you removing the DCCache folder as well as the mods folder?

Yes, removing DCCache folder and the mods folder.

I've never used CCMagic, where does that install your CC to?

C:\Users\x\Documents\Electronic Arts\CC Magic\Content\Packages is the file path.

What worries me is how in the world am I supposed to batch test my CC files if the glitch only makes itself known if I seemingly turn off my PC. That is rouuughhh.

Have you tried checking with dashboard tool? https://modthesims.info/d/387006/si...8217-25892.html

GUYS!!! Oh my gosh I finally figured narrowed it down to 52 CC items out of 3.2k. It took me two days I even spent half of my birthday trying to figure it out haha. For anyone coming across this post in the future and has a problem like me these are the culprits. I have no idea which one it is out of these 52 and I am too tired to test and see. They are all getting deleted after I post this LOL. Thank you very much for your help! I probably uninstalled and reinstalled my game about 50-60 times in the last few days, goes to show how much I love this game
