Default Mod - TWO-Hour Carpool Warning

This mod changes the notice you get about the car pool and school bus, so that you get the warning pop-up TWO hours before they come instead of one. So if you've forgotten that your Newspaper Reporter sim goes to work at 3:00 AM, you'll get enough notice to actually feed and wash them before they get in the car. :-)

The file for the mod should be attached below, or you can get it at http://corylea.com/TWOHourCarpoolNotice.html.

This does NOT go in your Downloads folder; unzip the folder and put CarPortal.iff in your GameData\Objects folder, and it will override the CarPortal.iff file that's inside the Objects.far file.

For most non-Legacy players, this is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims\GameData\Objects.

Legacy players will find the folder at C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims Legacy\GameData\Objects if you have the EA app version of the game or at

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims Legacy\GameData\Objects if you have the Steam version.

Because this is overriding a file that's inside Objects.far, it has to go into the same folder as the far file for that to happen.

DO NOT PUT THIS IN YOUR DOWNLOADS FOLDER, BECAUSE IT WILL NOT WORK THERE.

Several other mods use CarPortal.iff, and you can only have one CarPortal.iff file in your Objects folder at a time. BUT, you can combine my mod with another mod if you wish. This mod alters BHAV 4125 "process warnings car pools" AND STR 301, entries # 1 and 11. So if you know how to combine mods, you can extract the bhav from my mod and add it to another CarPortal.iff mod, then alter the strings by hand.

Have fun!

Ooh, this makes me seriously consider breaking my "no 'required objects' replacements" rule!
