First of all, thank you for this mod and many mods you have made before!

There's an issue I keep encountering though since I first got RPG Manager. Every time I try to use the skills manager (even just in the beginning of a save), I get many error logs and then the manager asks how I would like to see the results. Everything else works though, that I'm aware of. I tried the mod both with and without Story Progression, and it did the same. However, I did notice that the sim in my household does get some skills from the mod without Story Progression, even with the errors.

I'm not quite sure how to attach files since this is my first time posting something onto ModTheSims, so I will copy and paste the contents of two of the eleven errors I got instead (there's only two unique types of names for the files, so I assume that the ones that are similar will just be redundant), if that's fine. These errors are without Story Progression, by the way.

I don't know if it's due to the Kinky world mod, I'm not sure about that, KW doesn't support many mods, the most famous ones that conflict are some Nraas mods like StoryProgression, a problem I'm noticing with the mod is that the loading takes time or never loads (Infinite loading), I've never spent more than 1 hour waiting, but the bar stops at the end and never starts, perhaps a conflict.
The moment I remove the mod from the files the bar returns to its normal loading time.

This looks like a really cool mod, I wish I had tried it Keep up the good work!

Hey!

It's entirely possible!

KW does do some really clever things in the background that don't really have anything to do with what it says on the tin (don't worry, it's nothing game-breaking or virus-like). But that does mean that the basic approach of script modding makes it much harder to get it to work with KW, since that was made in mind with solely itself.

Though, remember that KW can be pretty buggy because of that. I'm honestly not sure how I could fix this without having people to download KW as well.

Hi! Would it be possible to edit Skill Challenges in addition to regular skill levels? I always find myself getting bored whenever I try having my Sims complete all the skill challenges, and I'm not really against cheating or using mods to fulfill that requirement.

Sorry for getting to you so late!

I have been seeing some incompatibilities with nraas's modules (specifically Story progression). So I'm having some suspicion on what the "Extra" module does. If you're willing to try, could you take that one out, start a new save (don't have to save this save, just exit without saving if after 10 min nothing happens/city hall doesn't have anything). That would be really helpful!

Otherwise, I'll try and see if I have time to check which one of those modules may be conflicting. Nraas has some super fancy code that *can* halt certain basic code from executing. (aka, they're being "queued" and therefore could take days before actually showing up). Although, given that the city hall doesn't show anything, it may well just get rejected by something :p

Hello Lyralei !
First of all as many other I'd like to thank you for your amasing mods ^^you're really changing the experience of the game, it's super cool from you ♥

I'd allow myself to answer, as I have the same problem than Pogi428.

RPG Manager doesn't show up in the game, at all. For the first time with a previous save, it doesn't pop up and nothing appear on the city hall.
It's the same with a brand new file.
I tried with all my mods (including all Nraas'), without any of them, and with Nraas except Story Progression extra. Nothing works at all, like the RPG Manager just doesn't exist.
I tried to move it from Packages to Overrides, to Mods... nothing works.

Of course each time, I deleted all the .cache !
I'm on PC, 1.69.

Maybe if you could have an idea ? The Manager would save so much of my time and do better work than I do xD

Thanks !

Hi! This mod is amazing and does something I have wished for since I started playing. It always felt weird to create adult sims with no skills whatsoever, so thank you! I wanted to flag that it seems the individual career option just adds skills. Could you check to see if that is happening on your end? Maybe it's something on mine.

Hi! This mod is very good and really helps with setting up new families or modifying the existing ones. Now my sims bank account actually matches their backstory

Mind you, I noticed a few things:
1) it seems that Skilling Manager doesn't include any skills that come with Store objects. I have both the glass-making station and the dance bar but the mod never offers those skills when I ask for potential options for my sims. Is this something that you plan to add later?
2) I had a Sim with a life wish to be a movie star but Job Manager doesn't show film career as an option. Are they some additional requirements for it to show up?
3) the Pregnancy Manager does not check if the potential parents are related. Like, I used it on a female Sim and one of the options for the other parent was her adult son. Now, if I ever wanted to make the Targaryens it could be useful it just kind of surprised me because I thought it was one of the things that are impossible to get around without having one of the sims being adopted out.

Hey @Raven-6-10 !

Glad to hear that you've been liking the mod so far!

1. That's because of the way that the skill manager has been set up by EA actually. I was looking for a way to handle it, but I wasn't able to unfortunately to include custom skills too :/. Maybe in the future, but right now it's beyond me on how to get those also listed.

2. I just checked the source code for it, and it's actually seemingly missing from it when getting potential careers. Potential careers are actually skill based, rather than lifetime based, since lifetimes are coded in so oddly, i'd have to figure out which ID is what lifetime wish. So in this case it may be best to add her career through nraas for now. I will add it to my to-fix list though! Speaking of which....

3. Thaaaaat's... not supposed to happen lol. I am using the same list as the one for picking friendships, which is probably why I hadn't thought of that at all. I will fix that too!

i'm also having the same issue. along with the options not showing up in game, i noticed rpg manager also doesn't show up in my mod scripts list when i start the game. i tried inspecting the mod with both a package editor and a hex editor and i didn't see anything that may be causing the issue (of course, i'm not an expert).
the only thing i can think of is to uninstall overwatch and errortrap, i'll report back if that fixes anything
update: it didn't solve anything. i honestly don't know what to do now.

this is such a wonderful mod, being able to enter a save and have this immediately make every sim feel more alive is great - got fed up of my sim asking others what their career was only to discover 90% of them were unemployed lol

i have no clue how this would work and i know ea's story progression may handle some of this over time, but would there be a way to add celebrities? for example using the level of the career, the sort of career they're in, their net worth, the sims they're friends with, and how many sims they're friends with to indicate what level of celebrity they're given ?

to avoid it giving out celebrity to willy nilly, there could be a percentage or ratio set by the user (maybe with suggested defaults like with the gender preferences section) for how many sims in the world (that aren't role/service) they're okay with being celebrities

it would help towns that weren't created with celebrities have celebrities that make some sort of sense - i don't know how ea designed the story progression celebrity stuff but it usually feels very random and not very balanced

Found a couple of other bugs:
1) If I try to run from town hall only the Career Manager for Townies, it runs instead the Degree Manager. And it's not the issue that they were both mislabelled, because clicking on the Degree Manager starts the Degree Manager. So it's definitely just Career Manager not being enabled to run without running the entire Townie Manager.
2) When running Household Manager, there's no age check on pregnancy. I only noticed it when it asked me if my elder Sim should be made pregnant. (No idea if it's the same for teenagers.) And it's not necessarily bad thing, if somebody wants to play like that but this mod doesn't enable the Sim to give birth so she got stuck in labour until I fixed it.
Anyway, you might want to just add information that it's possible but the players should get another mod to enable birth and maybe some cc maternity clothes.

Hello, I love this mod, and I especially love the way that you implemented it! I was just wanting to let you know that with the build of the Story Progression module of Skills, my Sims are successfully given skills, unlike before, when I didn’t realize there was an incompatibility, but the skills are immediately taken away after a few Sim minutes. Could it be another mod of mine that’s creating the issue? I’ve just realized as I was typing this that it may be Gamefreak’s skills lose progress mod, so I will test it out without that mod, but I am still going to post this, just to ensure that the issue may be escalated for not only myself, but any others with this issue. Anyways, thanks for creating this mod, it really opens a whole world of possibilities for story telling!

Oh, to clarify, I am using the build of Story Progression Skills that Chain_Reaction so kindly made and made available for download at the link in this mod description, and I am still having this issue. I have also verified that it is not Gamefreak’s mod mentioned above that is creating the issue, but I can see that it might be other mods of which there are many. Is this compatible with Awesome mod, for example? I use the one circulated by Lazy Duchess, that features the pie menu lag fix, to be clear. I guess I just want to confirm that the build of the Skills module of Story Progression actually works for everyone else, and that I’m not the only one having this issue. Thanks in advance for any response!

hey buddy, i know its been a while but i guess i'm getting the same problem, and i guess i know the culprit. i'm using a mod to unhide hidden skills along SP skill (with compatibility) and RPG. my sim has received skills, but none of them stuck, and my skills aren't unhidden even if with the mod on. i guess i'll try to run it with only RPG and then enable unhide skills later on
UPDATE: it worked! the skills were given, differently from the first time. i'm still testing but i'll come back with results
