Hello,
I bought with John Mole a restorable Junk Car from the Buy Mod. I fully restored the engine and the body without a Problem. After that, I wanted to spray the car black. John goes to each side of the car and sprays a bit but then he stops while he slides to the side, away from the driveway section. His hand is smoking black just like the spray color, but without the spray pistol. This phenomenon stays and does not go away, not even when he is showering. I was able to solute this problem by canceling the action shortly before he does that himself. Another way I tried was by using boolprop testingcheatsEnabled true, clicking at the spray pistol and force error and then reset. This worked too, but both methods are a one-time-thing, means I have to repeat either of them each time I continue to spray the car. I also forced error and reseted the car, the driveway and John Mole, but nothing changes.
Another big problem is I feel like the car will never be finished. I sprayed over a whole sim-day and I still see no progress. How long does it normally takes? Is it a bug in my game too?
I took some pictures of the black spray dust surrounding his hand, please look at them.
I do not have any custom content in my game at the moment except for default eyes and a pregnancy controller fix for pets. But I already removed the download folder from my sims files and the problems were still present, nothing changed.

What is the reason for the problem(s)? How can I solve them?

I would be very happy if someone could help me, I love the sims hobbies and the junk car so much.

The same thing is happening to me! Darn, no one has replied to this thread for years! X___X
I am speculating that our Sims can't finish the cars because the "Awesome Customized Car" is missing, so it can't finish the painting animation. Today I'm gonna investigate this glitch and have a look at the log files.
I'm also trying out BigWoe's Classic Car Improvements mod to see if that replaces the missing finished car

Just in case any other human beings out there encounter this issue!

( I also uninstalled some other car-related CC that might have been causing it, but the OP said they don't have any CC so that probably had nothing to do with it)
