Default Would transferring my UC (through Origin) save to a new harddrive work?
I downloaded UC about 10 years ago and when it'd boot up, it'd open through Origin. I just learned Origin isn't a thing anymore. Would there be an issue there? (Transferring to a new drive)
BTW I don't plan to do this any time soon. I just want to know if it's possible.
(I apologize if I put this in the wrong category, it seems like it'd fit in this one.)
As always, many thanks! You're all very kind.

Haven't looked into it much, but I think the EA App is still in use (the replacement for Origin), and if you have your original login info, I'd think you should be able to get the UC through there - should be in your game library.

(I haven't tried yet - been using UC offline for years...)

Unless they've removed UC in favor of LC, that is..

All of your save files would have been saved on your harddrive along with the game files, the only thing Origin did was add a step to you starting your game that made it open the Origin app and check your login. So if you can get the UC to run again in some way or other without Origin, it's the same game and your save files are 100 % compatible. Assuming you also saved your Downloads folder, plug and play.

Legacy would be a different matter, since it's missing some things that were part of the UC, so any saves created with the UC would not work there. You can still recreate your old files, but that would take a lot of effort.

You need more than just the files it's not just a launcher, the game also installs registry entries.

Origin is now EA app and all your games are there, including UC. The same no-cd used with Origin can also be used with EA app so you don't have to keep the app open.
