This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default Graphics Error with Water in Rain
Any water, seemingly at random, will beome very glitchy in the rain. Ponds, pools, puddles; basically anything that has the ripple texture applied to it. I can temportarily get rid of it when I change the anti-aliasing settings but it will come back soon after. It doesn't happen all the time but it will happen eventually while it's raining. I've tried debugging every mod I have and it doesn't seem to matter what I change it will happen, even after doing a fresh install. But due to the bug's tempermental nature its been hard to check when it is or isn't happening. If anyone has any insight on where this is originating from I would appreciate it, there's a chance it is mod related but I wish I had some understanding of where in the stack of mods this kind of thing could even originate from. Picture below.

GPU anti-aliasing setting doesn't go well with game's edge smoothing mechanics (for me at least).
Did you tried to make a fresh installation on the GPU drivers? When you make an driver installation on it you must tick on the "Clean installation" checkbox to make an clean installation of the GPU drivers. After the update your in-game settings will be set to default values - change graphics settings to the max values, quit the game, clean the cache files, then start the game again afterward.

I've done all the standard tests of updating drivers etc. Over on tumblr confusedsheriff reminded me about DXRK so I've set that up and so far it's not happened since. So I assume it's an odd issue that's immerged with modern hardware.

I never knew that there is a GitHub fix for the game to work better on newеr hardware. Thanks @chazzhay!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but DXVK alone hasn't fixed this issue for me. Someone over on the NRaas forum reported the same issue. One suggestion was to lower anisotropic filtering to 8x or less (I did this in the DXVK config), but that didn't do the trick either. I also tried disabling that entirely, but it resulted in shiny, ugly looking hair in-game. I'm still wondering the cause of this and whether it can be fixed without trade offs. I also have edge smoothing disabled. Have not tried a total re-installation of my graphics drivers yet, but did clear the NVIDIA caches, which did nothing.

I would like to troubleshoot this further so I will comment if some combination of settings, drivers eventually fixes it for me.

Edit: Disabling anisotropic filtering entirely didn't fix it, and neither did updating my graphics drivers
