This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life
Default What am I doing wrong?
I used to play The Sims 3 for over a decade on my old computer, and I have always used all the expansion packs along with 186 mods, and 920 downloads. The game ran fine and I didn't really have any issues. Then, I ran into BIOS problems that could not be fixed, so I started saving up for a new computer build from MicroCenter, sparing little expense, upgrading every part. This thing performs far better than any PC I've ever had when playing GTA or doing anything other than playing Sims 3 and the graphics card is running at 250 FPS. I got my new build a week ago and I made sure to install EA, the Nvidia app; the Nvidia drivers; the correct redistributable files; and DirectX 9. EA and Sims 3.exe are both set to run as admin, and Sims 3.exe is also set to run in Windows 8 compatability mode on my Windows 11 desktop. re-installed my mods and the resource.cfg file and added my Sims 3 store purches one by one, then by fours (just single items). Then I put my TSR content in, installing about 25 at a time. I started building a family on a big lot and an hour later, the game crashed. I looked online to see what I could do to solve this and I saw I had already done everything I could do to try to prevent game crashes (setting EA and Sims 3.exe to run as admin, setting it to run in Windows 8 compatability mode, checking Nvidia for updates and checking my PC for updates). I always close out of everything on Task Manager before playing to prevent crashes. My monitor resolution is 3840 x 2160 and the monitor refresh rate is set to 60 hz.

I don't know what to do. I spent over $2,000 on this thing and can't even play The Sims 3 Please help

EDIT: I do see a notice on Novabench that says my GPU temp is higher than normal. Maybe that could be the reason?

I seem to have fixed the issue by lowering some of the graphics settings. This can be marked as solved.

Limit your fps to 60 or 90 in case you didn't.

Also check if your PC's cooling system is mounted correctly.
